Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

National Lima Bean Respect Day

Seriously? Someone needs to get out more often.
Sorry I’m late but that’s on Comcast. They were down for two days here on our little Slice of Paradise. Good to now some things just never change huh? Your cable will go out when it rains. It's 1978 all over again. Kinda like Ctrl + Alt + Del for my PC using friends. Well, It’s raining. Again. For those who aren’t aware, we in the greater Houston area have been getting a lot of rain. I say greater Houston area since we are about half way between Galveston and the City. As much rain as we got Monday it’s a fraction of what some folks got and are getting again today. It started about noon on Monday here and looked like this in about 20 minutes.
It came down on a mission. After about 4 hours I checked my rain gauge and this is what it looked like.
Yep, That almost 5 inches in 4 hours. Tis is what CLear Lake Shores looked like.
Here's the park at the Club House. Have a seat.

I guess it's a good thing The Shore's are used to it after this long.

Forster's front yard from West Shore. Good thing is it's going down at this point. You can see the high water marks at the street.

Believe it or not there's a boat ramp out there somewhere.

The waterfront and the front of Theda's old place.

Chicken Licken' and Clear Creek Channel.

As a point of reference, Sunday we were about 6" behind on yearly rainfall totals. As of today and that does not count what is falling now, we are 7" over. Do the math. That's a lot of water. Good thing we live on an Island!

The in-Laws will be here in a few weeks. Can't wait to see them!
