Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Why do you think he's doing so well? I think it's a simple answer that some folks are trying to make difficult. Maybe it's just me.

Back from Jamaica. A few friends and neighbors went down and built a playground for some less fortunate than ourselves. We stayed in a real Jamaican Great House in a wide spot in the road in Cave, Westmoreland. It's name is Chebuctoo. Wow.This is the view from the front porch.
So much good food. Here's a picture of an Akee tree. It grows right outside the kitchen so when Sandra cooked the Jamaican national dish, which is Akee and salt fish we didn't have to go the market. The "eyeballs are the seeds and the yellow part is the meat.
Here's Jim with a "Shrimp". Yep a shrimp. It's just short of a Longusta but a damn sight bigger than what we have locally. THere was some speculation that it was closer to a mudbug but we ran out of beer.
Got to meet some of the family and a lot of great people in a great country. Here's Douggie the Rasta. Him and Pete cooked us lunch at the school. Local Style.
One opportunity I wish I had passed on was the chance to feed some of the local wildlife. It's a mixed bag of Sand Fleas and No see-ums. Damn.
If you get a chance to go make sure you stop in a place named Luna Sea Inn in WhiteHouse. Most excellent food and you can't beat the view.

Looks like there will be no election locally. With three Council seats open and only three folks running it's a gimme. It will be interesting to see what Bud brings to the table.

Food Trucks are back.  Galveston County's first Food Truck Park was a smash hit Friday night. The perfect weather brought everyone and then some out doors to eat. I had a Cuban from the Cuban Guys and it was the best Cuban I have ever had. Key Wests Cuban Queen included.

Oh, and Happy National Sticky Bun Day!
