Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

National Flffernutter day?

National Fluffernutter Day is celebrated annually on October 8th.  This is a day set aside each year to make and enjoy the sandwich which is made with peanut butter and marshmallow fluff.
A sweet marshmallow-like spread, that he called “Marshmallow Cream” was invented in 1917 by Archibald Query in Somerville, Massachusetts.  In 1913 during World War I, Emma and Amory Curtis of Melrose, Massachusetts invented Snowflake Marshmallow Creme and published a recipe for a peanut butter and marshmallow creme sandwich, which is the earliest known example of a Fluffernutter.

AND It's Breast Cancer Awareness month AND White History Month. What a bust month.

IF you haven't heard the 3rd annual Clear Lake Shores BBQ Cookoff is on and scheduled for November 8th! WOOT.

My Bad. the EDC meeting was Monday night. Tonight is City Council. Lots of waterfront issues to talk about.

More on the Police Costume Party!

I was unable to attend last nights City
Council meeting, what happened? I saw where we were trying to convince a new business to come make its home here on the island. Just curious how it went

We were able to provide some economic incentives to lure them here. Other cities are after them too. The amount of sales tax they will pay will far exceed the incentives and exceed even further the sales tax Frank's Custom Body Shop collects annually on parts. City Council & EDC worked as a team to make this happen. Now we just need to wait and see if they can close on the building.
