Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Good Friday 2014

If you did not get this in an email from the President that means they do not have your email address.

Happy Good Friday everyone!
Just a reminder of our weekend activities around the island:
Kids Easter Party:  Easter egg hunt, lots of fun activities and a cake walk- Fun begins at 10:00 at the Pavilion.  (If you're donating a baked item, don't forget to drop them off today or early tomorrow at the Wards home.)
*  Sunrise Easter Service - 6:30 at Deep Hole Park.  Coffee and donuts provided.  It's a great way to start Easter day and remember what it's all about - so come join us - it's going to be very nice!
*  Fish Fry - 1:00 - 3:00 at the Pavilion.  $10 per plate.  Fried fish, hushpuppies, sides, a soft drink/bottled water and desserts provided.  If you want to donate a side or dessert item, please feel free to bring it - home cooked foods donated by you are the best!
*  Eggstravaganza competition also starts at 1:00 at the pavilion.  Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
*  A scavenger hunt has also  been organized for the kids - 1st and 2nd place winners will receive a gift certificate.
If you can volunteer to help set up or clean up for the fish fry, we definitely need you!  Set up - we need you around 11:00 am on Sunday at the Pavilion.  For clean up volunteers - just stay afterwards to help.
*  We'll also be accepting new members and early renewals of existing members for the Civic Club membership during the fish fry - Club Membership for 2014 is $20 per household - and you receive a free Club cookbook (while supplies last) when you sign up and pay this Sunday!  If you already have a cookbook, this would make a nice gift for someone else!
It's going to be a great weekend - I truly hope you can join us for all or some of it and show your support of our Civic Club!  A HUGE thank you to all our fabulous volunteers that make this work.  We couldn't do it without you!
