Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Well, here we are,

2014. Happy New Year Everyone! So far so good I guess. The Aggies beat Duke, (Sorry Steve) The Texans have a new coach, The Sandbar should be open this year and so should Chill. Did I mention I talked to Frank a couple of weeks ago? He has a new guy stepping up to get Chill back on track. More as I get it, Town Center project is finally showing signs of life, even if it is just a sidewalk And Phil Robertson is coming back. Should be a good year.
To the folks asking about the Civic Club’s Soup Cook Off, Please come to the next Club meeting and volunteer. That’s how these events happen. The next meeting will be February 6. We’ll get ManCakes lined out and set the stage for all the great events that will make 2014 one more fabulous year for our Island Paradise. I am going to propose a huge change for this years ManCakes and if you want to know what it is you’ll have to come to the meeting and vote on it. One of the first things on the agenda will be looking for the next set of Civic Club Officers. That will be done by putting together a nominating committee who will then searching the neighborhood for prospective candidates. Here’s your chance to make a difference and have a ton of fun while doing it.

 Going, going,......

Thanx for thinking of me Alan - I have to admit, the Duke / Aggie game really hurt. We had them, but Manzel came through for his guys. We'll get them on the Basketball Court, I'll wager.

Thanx for another year of the Islanddrumz Blog, Alan.

I hope Everyone has a happy and prosperous 2014.

Has there been a person who has hosted the soup cook-off in the past we can contact to get their play book? Previous guides are always helpful.

A bunch of the people who have hosted events have instructions on how to make it work. Don't be scared to host an event or even better bring your own ideas to the mix. You will never have more fun, more help and friends, and learn to say I LOVE THIS PLACE

Happy New Year! The Scholarship Committee hosted the soup cook off for years. The New Scholarship Committee Chair has information on all previous soup cook offs (we turned over all files and information last year). I still have some of the "forms" for that event in my computer - if needed. Bettie J.

Update on the two sex porn folks. They are out on bond but the cases are very strong they will be convicted. Two down, millions to go. There are not enough jails to hold all of these sick folks.

Wondering if anyone spoke to the parents of the one boy. Let me guess, they had no idea.

Who is on the scholarship comm.? I did not see it on the City's website. Will they need helpers to pull off the Soup Cook-Off?

Does the soup event have to be for the Scholarship fund? Didn't the July 4th silent auction bring in record breaking amounts?

For those of us getting rid of things, is the Parks Comm. collecting items for the garage sale? Please tell me they have place to store stuff.
