Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

This'll do..

Thanks for coming out to the Civic Clubs annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Missed you Jimmy Mann. I hope you enjoyed yourself. If you did, tell your neighbors, If not tell me. We raised a few bucks for the Club and had an awesome dinner with family and friends. It doesn’t get a lot better than that. Next time you see Pege Wright tell her what a great job she did on the event. She ran everything that went on in the building. And for outside the building all kudos’ go to Bryan Hoerner and his A Team. Again. For the past 7 years they have been cooking all things turkey.
Thanks to John we have an updated membership list. Some of you can expect an email real soon. Thanks all round.

On deck is the Christmas Party. More as I get it

A few of you are looking for the City Council agenda. I usually don’t post it here because it is such a pain in the ass to convert it to a format that the blog will accept. Way too much work. If you look over there —->, on the right side of the blog page you will see a Websites list. The bottom site is the City’s web page. If you click on it the new and pretty dang cool web page pops up and one of the first buttons you see is Agendas & Minutes. Just click that square button and select the date you’re interested in. It won’t get any easier than that, I promise.

I got a chance to talk to Roxanne a little bit and she reassured me the Sandbar is back on track and moving forward. YAY SANDBAR!

From the EDC
Please plan on attending the much awaited Town Center Phase IA ceremonial ground breaking this Saturday at 10 am on the Oakies property. We hope to get a group photo of all of us with shovels for release to the press and Islander. Note there is a 50% chance of rain. The rain date is at the same time and place on November 30th. I will ask George to forward a copy to City Council, Mayor and Chief of Police. This will be a very brief ceremony. Please feel free to forward to others.

This from neighbor Bud. It’s pretty cool.
TURN SPEAKERS ON. BEST FULL SCREEN.
2 Minutes - A MUST watch!
This is incredible. I just wish you could slow it down.
You will need to watch it at least twice.
It's a final project by a high school student.........

Wish we were there for this year's celebrations.

Like the history of the world in 2 minutes - just put it on Twitter.

Thank you CC for appointing ppl to ZBOA that are intelligent and without their own agenda. So many of the applicants earned bad reputations over the years. Thanks, too to the folks that applied.

For the parks comm. - may we suggest some of the grant be spent on safety. This would include solar lights around the pool and the parking lot. Stress we want our parks to be GREEN. Another huge asset would be solar heat for the pool.

Yes, we want more shade trees, but think outside the box.

Why don't you make those suggestions at the next parks committee meeting?
Probably get more of the response your looking for than posting it here.
Here you will get told that "WE" might not want all of the things that "YOU" want.
