Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Hump Day

This is awesome beyond words. Folks, a huge hats off to our very own Kemah Volunteer Fire Department. These are your family, friends and neighbors. Well done Chief Hahn and crew!

I had the distinct pleasure of accepting the award for the Kemah Fire Department from the Texas Department of State Health Services in which we were awarded First Responder Organization of the Year.  This is the highest award given by the Texas Department of State Health Services to a First Responder Organization.  I cannot put into words my pride and gratitude to the membership of the Kemah Fire Department on your dedication and service to our community.  This award is not something we could apply for, we were nominated by our peers and were selected by the Texas Department of State Health Services.  There are several hundred First Responder Organizations in the state and we were chosen over all of them.

Once again, THANK YOU for your dedication and compassion for the Kemah Fire Department.  It was the MEMBERS who earned this award, and I am very proud to be a part of the Kemah Fire Department.  Each and every member has shown what our foundation for the department is: INTEGRITY, PRIDE, and TRUST.
Thank you,
 Brent Hahn

Have you checked out the “New” Galveston County Daily News? I like the mast head. I can’t find today in history yet but I’m still poking around. Thanks Mr. Graham!

An old man was asked, "At your ripe old age, what would you prefer to get - Parkinson's or Alzheimer's?"
The wise one answered,
"Definitely Parkinson's.
Better to spill half an ounce of whiskey,
than to forget where you keep the bottle!!"
