Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

THis is for the bird(er)s

MAYDAY this just in from neighbor Steph.... (Haynes)

Can you send this out or post on blog?
I have an injured hawk in the lot on Rosewood across from Flounder Pond (Mike and Fran's lot). He looks pretty young and healthy, but clearly cannot fly. He was drinking out of our pool yesterday, but keeps hanging in the yard and being pestered by blue jays. I called Tx parks and wildlife(in the Heights) and they will gladly take him, but won't come get him. They are open until 4 today. I am more of a squirrel lover than hawk lover, but still... God's creature and all. Does any bird lover want to score some good karma points and take him over to I10 and Washington to the rescue place next to the Houston SPCA? Please Help.
Thanks so much.

Put him in a box, keep him warm, and take him to on a short drive to Texas City to Trudy Ann Belz. She is a Permitted wildlife Rehabilitator. Her phone is 409-948-6262 at 432 12th Avenue North, Texas City. Her front porch always has several boxes of injured birds. She is great.
