Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Lost & Found

Let's start with the stuff left at Jarboe pavilion after the Picnic.
"I have two plastic bowls and two large serving spoons from the 4th - owners can pick at Civic Club Meeting next week!!"

Then this,
"Hey Allan … I put this on the blog, but it may not get out to a cross section of folks, so if you can send it out:
“SPorter said...
Hey folks ... glad everyone enjoyed the Fourth !!! In all the mess, a small iPOD has been found ... if you can identify the name on it, it is yours. Thanx ... SPorter (281 334-4210.)”

And last from ex-neighbors Tim & Julie
"If you are willing to add a post to the blog from an ex-Islander, please let the good folks of the Island know that Julie and I picked up a lost Wiener Dog on Lower Todville Road. He was quite thin, but not malnourished, scared and in danger from all the cars. We guess he is about 3 years old.
We have checked all the lost pet sites and took him to the vet to see if he has a chip, no luck. We are keeping him at our home, feeding, exercising, and loving on him to get him back into shape. He is doing quite well, gets along with our dogs, and is a great little dog.
We plan to take him to the Vet next week for shots and neuter, then Dachshund Rescue has agreed to take him in to find him a new Forever Home. If someone on the Island is looking for a new companion please give Julie (281-299-4945) or me a call.

Don't know if you've ever stumbled across the site below but it's a lot of fun. In light of our nation's birthday they ran an article on how the different states got their names. Check it out.

Happy Friday and Enjoy your weekend!
