Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Most of the numbers are in for the membership drive and I must admit they look pretty dang good. These aren’t exact numbers but they are real close. We made $2K and the Scholarship committee made over $1,100. If you want the exact numbers come to the Club meeting this Thursday at 6:30 in the Club House. I’m making popcorn and you need to checku=out the new cart for the machine. It’s really nice and makes moving the popcorn machine very easy. We’re also gonna talk about spending money on movie night. It’s your money so you need to be there.

I heard another story about one of our neighbors rolling a stop sign behind Stewart. You got it. Busted. By Kemah. Anybody remember the old joke…A cop stops a guy for running a stop sign. Guy says “I slowed way down, what’s the difference?” Cop pulls out a night stick and starts whacking the guy on the head and says “ you want me to stop or just slow down?” If you’re going to roll a red octagon you need to be ready for a ticket. That’s why it says Stop people.

Watch this space for the final BBQ Cook off rules. Should be here tomorrow. If you do not register ahead of time you can not enter.

This just in from an Islander on Travel…

We are in Seattle sitting in sidewalk cafe and witnessed the annual Seattle nude bike ride to celebrate first summer Hot weather. Quite a sight. 21 to 90 age, equal sexes. Maybe 50 riders. Some painted with signs, some not. Didn't get a picture, sorry. Too busy looking. Suggest you try it for CLS next year. If you are going to be arrested make it worthwhile.

Who’s in?

Today in Texas History:

1882 - Ima Hogg was born in Minola, TX. She was the daughter of Texas governor James Stephen Hogg. She helped found the Houston Symphony Orchestra.

Here’s your First Place buggie one last time
