Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

It's Star Wars Day..

May the Fourth Be With You! Yeah I know.
This Saturday is the beginning of Jammin’ On Jarboe 2012! It’s gonna be Dave Nevlin and the Blue’s Cats at the Pavilion AND all this under a Super Moon!! See you there.
Latest on Explorer!! Looks like we are a go!

I got this from a “concerned neighbor” Allen, this boarders on a grey area of legal action, please do not advise me how to vote.
In response to my email the other day titled “Voting Stuff”. Did anyone else interpret this the same way? Enquiring minds want to know….
Thanks to all who had a chance to come out to the Civic Club meeting last night. So much to talk about. First and foremost is the Island Wide Garage Sale on the 19th. Don’t wait until the last minute to sign up. Somewhere around the 16th will be the cutoff to get your address on the map. Bryan is still looking for some volunteers to hand out said maps and a couple of folks to help with the cooking/serving. Drop him a line here or catch up to him around the island. For all you “Off Islanders” Don’t miss this event!
Suzanne Hubbard has agreed to “assemble” a golf cart parade like we have never seen before to celebrate our cities 50th later this year. It will be quite an event and I’m positive Suzanne would welcome any help. Thanks for taking this on Suzanne! So to all you boaters out there, here’s your chance to do what you do best. What about a boat parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Yachting Capitol of Texas? The good folks at Watergate are eager to join in the festivities and I’m sure Legend Point and Port O Fino wouldn’t miss the opportunity to participate! Who’s up for this?
The huge West Marine store is having their grand opening until Sunday.
And don’t forget the Boaters Flea Market is taking  place this weekend also.

A "concerned nieghbor?" You gotta' be kidding.

AB ... your information on the blog about voting had good info, encouragement to vote, but I don't remember a single line saying who or what to vote for.

But you know what ... who cares? Let the concerned neighbor pound sand ... Freedom of Speech on your Blog. The "Neighbor" ... can go try to practice whatever he / she does in The Republic of China where he / she will love the Government and fit right in. SPorter

I would appreciate assistance helping with our biggest golf cart parade ever to celebrate our city's 50th Anniv. If you have any ideas, please let me know. The November date will be determined soon.

Thank you,

Maybe folks could do some research and decorate their cart with some theme or event from the past. like the old pink shrimp door house

Great idea, Craig. Keep the ideas coming!

Why not make it a Poker Run with a small entry fee to a charity or Civic Club? Maybe sign up sponsors like Golf Carts of Texas.

Suzanne said...

It is the Civic Club's decision but my opinion is the poker run is Dave's annual project. We hope he will be a sponsor or judge. Please keep the ideas coming.

We need to keep the parade family friendly and involve the kids heavily so they soak up the traditions. A poker run to the bars isn't really a kid thing. Maybe we should all end up at deep hole for a picnic like we used to

I did not interpret it that way at all, Allan. I thought your "Voting Stuff" e-mail was informative and a public service. Your "concerned neighbor" sounds a little paranoid to me. Simple solution: remove him/her from your DL. Problem solved.

I am with you, Craig; the parade needs to involve the kids and stay on the Island.

Bryan, we think alike. Allan's email was educational. I would have considered dropping the person from the list, too. Illegal? I don't think so.
