Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Happy Birthday to ..

All kneel. Eric Clapton. The rock god is 67 years young today. Rock on.

And the Great State of Texas was readmitted to the union on this day in 1870.

Most of you adults out there remember the song “On the Cover of Rollin’ Stone” by Dr. Hook.

It’s running through my head….I made the front page of the Galveston Daily News!

A new neighbor is in the market for a boat slip. If you are interested drop me a line and I’ll introduce you.

This is from our friends in Kemah:

This event is aimed at raising money for ALS research to help the Greater Houston Chapter of the ALS Association, ALS commonly reffered to as Lou Gerihg's disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually lead to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. So, Come out and enjoy a challenging work out in a team (partner) setting and a great post WOD Party with some live music, vendors, and the Kemah Boardwalk with all its activities! The WOD is tough, but doable for everyone, there are two groups scaled and RX... teams can be Male, Female, or a mix... FOCUS is on community and raising awareness for a great cause!

(281) 733-9668

Speaking of Kemah, one of our neighbors got in trouble over there last week. It cost her a lot of money for not driving her buggie just like you would drive your car. No rolling stop signs!

Here’s next weeks agenda.

I'm not sure what all this fuss is over SPAM. I love SPAM, especially in the morning, sliced, fried, and served with 2 over easy eggs.

On that note, let me throw out an idea for our next fundraiser. Let's have a SPAM Cook-Off at the Jarboe Pavilion. All dishes must use SPAM as the main ingredient. All proceeds will go to the AB Legal Defense Fund.

Who's in?

Adelia said...

I am in brother - I cook a mean SPAM - In fact I am having SPAM salad for lunch. Cookoff sounds great. It amazes me that someone that got back from Iraq so recently is afraid of SPAM - maybe they had to eat a lot of it while they were there.

Bullying on both sides. Please stop calling peoples work places trying to have them fired, please stop lying trying to get businesses shut down, please quit calling the heath dept to close businesses. We are family and while we may not disagree we probably shouldn't sue, prosecute, or go on the Maury show. It sure would be nice to talk things out first.

Spam (its name derived from "Spiced Ham") is a canned precooked meat product made by the Hormel Foods Corporation, first introduced in 1937. The labeled ingredients in the classic variety of Spam are chopped pork shoulder meat, with ham meat added, salt, water, modified potato starch as a binder, and sodium nitrite as a preservative. Spam's gelatinous glaze, or aspic, forms from the cooling of meat stock.[1] The product has become part of many jokes and urban legends about mystery meat, which has made it part of pop culture and folklore.[2] Through a Monty Python sketch, in which Spam is portrayed as ubiquitous and inescapable, its name has come to be given to electronic spam, including spam email.

I'm in buddy ... name the date.

Has anyone tried the garlic SPAM? I am a bit old school so I have been hesitant to try it, but I am looking for feedback.

You guys are making me hungry! When's the date? Maybe we could crown Baaawbruh the Spamalot Queen with a spam tiara. The Monty Python spam skit is hilarious and we could show it on a big screen during the party if someone has a projector and screen. And how about some spam shirts to sell and go towards the AB legal defense fund, too?

BTW, can someone explain to me how her sending all of us an unsolicited, unwanted email that was promoting her agenda, without our permission, who didn't BCC anyone on the list so now everyone has my email address anyway, is any different than spam? And why was she, who is not a council member, sending me an email regarding cc meeting agendas and info? Sounds like impersonation. It was annoying but I didn't see the need to have her arrested. But maybe that's because I, too, paid the $29.99 per year for a spam filter. Or because I am an adult and don't usually act like a 1st grader to solve my problems.

There are a lots of SPAM gear on the recipe website i posted above. One thought I had was the SPAM ballons ... we could get some helium and see the balloons for $5 apeice ... profits going to the AB Warrior Poet Laueat defense fund.

I like this tshirt:

"We dine well here in Camelot. We eat ham and jam and spamalot."

A can of spam will be easier than the watermelon was for me to put on a tshirt.

I ate a lot of fried Spam when I was a kid. I liked it then, but I kinda out grew it. I think I may try it again.

This game is for the SPAM-O-RAMA Crew ...

Well I have been speechless since hearing about AB's arrest and then reading the Houston Chronicle and not much does that I can tell you.

So here is the only possible posting:

Enjoy! Not sure if the parties involved are in this sketch but there are definitely some candidates!

I recieved this email from Barbara Nichols back in Feb. - -

"I am as requested, removing many of you from my email distribution. However; the question has been asked many times how I got thatparticular person's email. I got these emails from the islanddrumzblogspot distribution list and copied and pasted them to mycommunciation."

I believe that someone should first contact her grammar teacher and try to do something about the massacre of language. - Second, contact Blogspot and find out why they're giving away email addresses. I bet you will find that they don't make subscriber email addresses public and that the original sender of the unsolicited email is a big fat liar.

Today its Spam ... tomorrow its Slim Jim's and Beef Jerky ... when will this war on our precooked meats end.

She did not get the emails from the blog. I use a unique email on the blog and that was not the one I received her email on. It was from Alans distribution list. Yes it was unsolicited email

Who is Gomer Smith posting in the Galveston Daily News that someone in the DA's office and someone in our Police Department should be fired for issuing an arrest warrant?

How can our Mayor and different citizens go to the DA's office on 4 or 5 occasions to have something done about the way our council is violating the open meetings act and nothing be done, then Denise calls down there and gets the most high profile person in our community arrested. I dont get it. Is Denise driving the bus at City Hall?
