Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

It's Thanksgiving Day

for our Canadian neighbors. For us it’s Columbus Day. Good job Chris. It’s Fire Prevention Week. It is. And from someone who has been on fire I can assure you it is something you want to prevent. Did you know it was started in response to the great Chicago? Yep. While they can’t prove it one of O’Leary’s cows has taken the rap since 1871.

Nice rain yesterday huh? Ya gotta love a rainy Sunday. Too bad about the Texans though. Oh well. The weaterman said that was the most rain we’ve had in one day since July. Of last year. We’re still in a drought but that sure helped. Now comes the mosquitoes.

Here’s your shot. Tomorrow is the EDC meeting and they want your input on the electronic sign. Go to the meeting and give them your 2 cents or sit down and shut up about the sign. This from Ronnie..

I will be there! The concepts presented were so exciting I had goosebumps. If anyone missed the last presentation I strongly suggest you see it.

I hope the sign will blend into the design of Lauren Griffith Associates further enhancing our idenity and brand. As far as the funcion, I hope it will be easy to read and change/ program.Maybe one color for all CLS' city events and another color for one time announcements: birthday, service men coming home, etc.

Your transparency is to be commended, Ronnie. Way to go EDC!

Maybe if the sign is too hard to change we could keep a low tech type sign but put it on the ground so that it would be easier to change. I will be there to see Both sign and Town Center Changes
Cant wait for it to move forward.
I had water in my boat this morning and Jackie Fuller and Craig pulled over in a boat and helped pump the water out. They also helped to diagnose my too much rain and not enough bilge problem. They didn't even know who I was - saw a boat in trouble and came to the rescue. Thanks guys!!!

Yes, thanks Jackie Fuller and Craig for helping pump out our boat this morning.

I am very glad there will NOT be an electronic sign in CLS!

I did not realize CLS will celebrate their 50th year in 2012. Perhaps the EDC could have phase one completed in time for it.
