Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Happy Annivesary

To my wonderful wife. She has managed not to kill me in my sleep for seventeen years. Not that she hasn't tried.....but still, a testament to her self control.
And if I might give a shout out to our friends and past slumlords. Happy anniversary to Grant and Becky. We still owe you large.

I hope some of y'all got to go check out the Ice Cream Social put on by the Civic Club Sunday. I did send out a reminder but found out later it didn't go.

I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first'

To Anon: It didn’t matter what you think someone wanted because the Chief ‘s Captain/wife didn’t want the job for she quit while under investigation. The Chief didn’t want his position as Chief for he quit behind closed doors after being confronted with all of the Charges that are being investigated. Both rats bailed from a sinking ship and left their supporters bailing. When are you going to come to terms with that and quit making excuses for what the Shelleys chose to do???

To Anon: We – are the ones who actually have served our country and are tired of hearing a self-serving-want-a-be promote them self by making false claims of a Military Record that they never earned, or could ever bring Honor too. More than one politician has been called out on this after making claims just like Vern did. Remember Senate hopefuls Mark Kirk (R) and Dick Blumenthal (D), they are just one of many who have made false claims and gotten called out. Vern, just like other politicians put the statements out to the public and should expect those statements to be vetted. Politicians are learning, the hard way, the cost of lying about Military Careers. The Defense Language Institute didn’t receive accreditation until October 2001. Ole Vern wasn’t serving then and would know that if he tried to get college credits.

To Anon: Cutting funding wouldn’t have affected me, or my family members, as we volunteered to Serve Our Country. Those of us who served preserved your right to make ignorant statements.

Michelle: Vern made the statements in the Comments on August 19, 2011 at 433PM. I’m only vetting what I know are false statements and have given him a chance to come clean about those false statements.

Roselyn: No, I won’t look it up for you because I have not seen that letter nor has Tami Perkins made statements about her degree that “I am aware of.” Every speaker makes mistakes including the President with all his Teleprompters and speechwriters.
As far as separation of State and Church please explain that statement in regards to Tami Perkins.
As to procedures, I have only seen the Supporters squeal foul as the Chief and his Captain/wife chose to quit. Those who thought this could never happen are seeing what happens if you put personal and special groups interest above all the people you serve.
When there is possible corruption in places of authority it is very difficult to address, especially when there are those running interferences and those needing to be investigated are blocking. The Board has operated in the best interest of ALL, not just the select few who received favoritism, and under very difficult circumstances generated by those being investigated. We need to support our Politicians who will make a stand to stop the possibility of corruption and allow the investigations to make the determination if corruption and/or wrongdoing existed.

Travis: I have an email sent to me from Tami dated April 14, 2010 10:29 AM that says she has a degree in political science. Will be glad to send it to you if you give me your address.

What is in quotes is from Tami's Bio while she was running for office. Her words, not mine.

"I have an Associate degree in Political Science and further classes toward a BA in Accounting and Political Science at U of H. I have a background of work experience in accounting, purchasing, chemical plant operations and maintenance planning."
"I have public speaking and investigative skills which have served me well. I’m a good listener and communicator. I strive to keep an open mind and consider all points of view. I want people to feel heard, witnessed, and believe their input is valuable when making decisions that impact our community."

Her communication skills have proven to be pathetic and inappropriate. Having experienced her saying f.u. to me and then observing her putting her hand in the face of Craig H. and then myself does not validate her listening skills nor her commitment to hear all points of view.

Sure wish there would be some word on when the result of the investigation will be available to the residents that paid for it.

Wondering, too, if the interviews have started for our new chief.

On a lighter note, Happy Anniversary Bachelors!

As for silent auction items, please tell Adelia that I have a box of stuff she is welcome to chose items she thinks are "saleable" from. Tell her to wander on by. If I'm not home, Mike is.

I don't know about tamis education but the line that starts I have public speaking and ends with impact our community, every bit of it is total BS. Did she really say this stuff? What a joke

This an email I got again and wanted to share it:

Blue Fridays.
Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing blue every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority' We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something blue. By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of blue much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in BLUE and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on. The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is .'We need your support and your prayers.' Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something blue every Friday.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Hey Travis,

My name is Paul Garner. Could you please tell me your MOS in the army?

Paul Garner
827 Cedar Rd

Bernie McIntyre said...

Paul, what has his MOS got to do with any of this? When anyone posts a non-party line comment, people look for ways to insult him. Travis is saying things that should be of interest to all of you. But you try instead to find a weakness you can take advantage of. I do not care what his MOS is or what he did in the army, or if he was in the army. He is trying to give you his take on recent events and you should take it into consideration. He has made several valid points.

I love how Bernie jumps to Travis defense on every topic. Next time we have a candidate that runs on her "good investigative skills" we should consider what that might mean. We sure have critisized Tami for how this Chief thing was handled but further investigations and allegations against the mayor and now calling people on this blogs workplaces and making accusations!! Are you kidding me?? How mean and bitter can you get.
Please stop.
