Well that was fun. Very light turn out. I guess it’s not surprising. Dumb and Dumber were absent. Again, not surprised. A dozen or so questions were asked and answered. For those enquiring minds my (shortened) questions and their shortened answers are below. If small town politics bores you feel free to skip over.
1.In 2010 our City Council was instructed by the voters to proceed with the Town Center project. It is painfully obvious they haven’t done their job. As a new member of council what will you do to further this mandate?
Dennis wants to do something and Arlene wants to see a plan
2. Some of our citizens are content with having a used car lot and a vacant lot as the visual cornerstones at the entrance to the island. Most are not. What are your visions for the entrance to the island?
Dennis wants the South Shore Beer Garden to rebuild and Arlene wants a park
3. In your opinion what are the priorities for the sitting council of 2011-2012.
Dennis wants tax producing entities and Arlene wants more trees.
4. Some city employees are concerned for their jobs. Any plans on getting rid of the City Administrator?
No an No
5. From Todd Ford “…Wish I could make it..want to hear views on enforcing trash and debris codes, …their stand on accountability for personal taxes and views on a real sign for the used car lot at the front…”
Enforce, enforce, skip over by the moderator, (no stones ) and no and no.
Don’t know about y’all but I can’t wait ‘til the next one…..insert cricket noise here.
You’ve seen them around the island and wondered “what the …” here’s the scoop! Remember you read it here first!

New Rule: If you're going to insist on making movies based on crappy, old television shows, then you have to give everyone in the Cineplex a remote so we can see what's playing on the other screens. Let's remember the reason something was a television show in the first place is the idea wasn't good enough to be a movie.
The only state highway in the U.S. that prohibits motorized vehicles is M-185 on Mackinaw Island in Michigan. You can travel on foot, bicycle or horse.
