Can't beat that. I wonder what ever became of our newest business in the Home Depot parking lot? One was supposed to be a Chicken place and the other a do- nut shop. Hmmm. I'll have to check that out.
Another Independence day is history. And this is another Thank You to the folks at Landry's for putting on one heck of a Fourth of July Week. Five days leading to to the 4th and trotting out new displays every day. I personally love the smiley face firework. Here's something from Mental Floss about fireworks.
"...When it’s airborne, a second explosion is triggered inside the shell by a time delay fuse. The bursting charges set off the stars—small, explosive pellets made of fuel and metallic compounds that create the lights in the fireworks display. Different metals create different colors when they ignite: barium goes green, calcium salts go orange, magnesium goes white, copper is blue, lithium turns red, and sodium becomes gold. And the arrangement of the stars will determine the shape of the explosion—so if they’re packed in a heart shape, they should reproduce that heart shape in the sky...."
We are prepping our 64 Aljo for a new paint job. For a lot of reasons we started on the back end and are 85% done with 70% being down to shiny aluminum. We experimented with different strippers but all are eco friendly. We are staying away from the crap that can kill things including us. The orange based stripper definitely has better results. What's weird is that some areas bubble up as expected and the area right next to it does nothing. Both products advertise the ability to strip more than one layer but they don't say that it might take three coats of stripper. Time to get another coat on.

Here's some more neighbors...
Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab
