IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

National Read a Book Day

I have determined that in order to read Hemingway, you have to want to read Hemingway. I just finished another Michener. Covenant. I got it from the free library up at City Hall. I confess to having read several Michener's over the years. If you have you know he's a bit of a slow starter. Once he gets the web spun hang on for the story. When I read Centennial waaaaaaaay back in my truck driver days, I found I didn't want the story to end. Now thats a fun read. Hemingway, not so much. Ernest, sorry, this is where we part ways.

Purchase jet skis for water patrol? Seriously?? How about we get our cops to patrol the neighborhood and enforce all of the people who run all the new stops signs we had to put up!! Another waste of our money.

Police jet skis? I'm no expert, but surely it is more difficult to issue a citation or inspect another vessel from a jetski than a from a police boat.... as in the police boat that rarely leaves its slip. Surely the purpose of proposed personal watercraft is to increase public safety along the waterways of our great city through the issuance of warnings and citations to boaters breaking the law and not just another gimmick for the department.
