IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Another Win –Win

It’s National Cheese Pizza day

·  In ancient Greece, the Greeks covered their bread with oils, herbs and cheese which some believe is the beginning of the “pizza”.
·  In Byzantine Greek, the word was spelled “πίτα”, pita, meaning pie.
·  A sheet of dough topped with cheese and honey, then flavored with bay leaves was developed by the Romans.
·  The modern pizza had it’s beginning in Italy as the Neapolitan flatbread.
·  The original pizza used only mozzarella cheese, mainly the highest quality buffalo mozzarella variant which was produced in the surroundings of Naples.

AND
National Lazy Mom’s Day

Annually celebrated on the first Friday of September, National Lazy Mom’s Day is a special day for all moms across the nation.
This day was created as a day for moms to relax, rest, and enjoy without feeling guilty about taking the day for themselves to completely unwind after the busy summer.  Take a long nap, go for a nice walk, enjoy the afternoon at the movies, read a book, have coffee with a girlfriend, watch your favorite shows on television or whatever you choose, the day is yours!!

Today is Polycystic Kidney Awareness Day!  As many of you know this is the disease that caused my Kidney Transplant in 2007. My daughter, Kelsey Christeson was diagnosed with it 2 years ago and for now is doing Great !! Kelsey and I are walking in the Polycystic Kidney Walk in late October to raise money for research on this disease to find a cure. Here is the link to my website to make donations towards this walk. Please go to my donation page ( found below) and donate to help find  a Cure for this disease, so my daughter or even future Grandchildren do not have to through what I have been through. This disease has a 50% chance of being passed on to my children and then their children.  HELP us find a CURE!!
