IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Then there's this

From neighbor Rob's front porch to your computer screen. We give you a Vine Sphinx moth.Notice the Bic lighter for a size reference. Do we grow 'em big or what?
And this just in from Neighbors Tommy & Tina on North Shore.
"This kitten was found near Sundial Park on Wednesday night during the sailboat races.  He is about 4 weeks old, very friendly and loves to play. If anyone recognizes this kitten or would like to adopt him, let us know."
Tina Price 713-805-7388
Tommy Price 281-744-0710

And last but not least the owner was found for the lost Boston Terrier reported two days ago. I don't know who she belonged to but I'll bet one of you out there know the fellow. Please talk him in to putting tags on his dog.  There is no reason not to have an ID tag on your pet folks. And it makes finding you a whole lot easier.

This weekend two ppl asked, "What is the Civic Club's Website?" They wanted to read The Islander online. Seriously? Neither were newbies. Perhaps the address needs to be on the marquee. In such a small community is it that hard to stay involved? Seriously? I guess I should be happy they wanted to keep reading our newsletter...

It is Tuesday and City Council meets tonight. Please post the agenda, AB, if you can.

The agendas are posted on the City's Website prior to every meeting.

The sign by City Hall says the Islander goes green sadly I think it goes obsolete. I hate to see the Islander go but advertisers are going to drop like flies and I don't think that many people will make an effort to go online to read it. This is a tremendous loss to our community I just hope someday it will come back but I doubt it

Kudos to all those who pulled together the electronic Islander! It is very well done, particularly for a first edition.
