IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

National Meteor Day

Who knew? Big Civic Club meeting coming up Thursday. Friday is the biggest event of the year for your Civic Club. That’s’ the day that you renew your annual dues and all the email lists get updated. There’s a ton of stuff lined up for Fridays events beginning with the Golf Cart Parade and including something new in the Pie Baking contest. All proceeds go to the Police Equipment Fund. Please come to the meeting Thursday.

PIE BAKERS - Bring two pies for the contest on the 4th  - the judges will taste each one, then we'll sell by the slice to benefit the police equipment fund.

Letter from the President:
Things are coming along with all the preparations for this coming Friday and Saturday's fun! I hope your planning on entering the golf cart parade competition. The trophies are all polished up for first and second place winner's and one for best child's entry.

Now, for more fun and excitement! If you have artwork, crafts, home goods or other items you would like to sell on Friday while the crowds are gathered at the pavilion, we're asking you to come early and set up your wares and sell your stuff! You will need to have your own table and canopy for shade (or the dreaded rain), as well as your own chairs. We'll have places marked off around the pavilion for you - what a great audience to sell your stuff to! All we are asking is that you please donate 10% of your sales to the Civic Club to help us pay for Club expenses.
If you want us to hold a spot for you, please contact Terri Roberson right away! Her email is: DennisAndTerri2013@yahoo.com. Or call her at 281-773-1142. Or flag her down if you see her out and about on the island, but contact her right away to get your spot reserved!

We've got a great weekend planned! Come to Thursday night's Civic Club meeting and hear all about it! We need volunteers to help set up and clean up on Friday, so we'll have a sign up sheet for you. We truly appreciate your involvement, support and help!

See you soon! Thank you so much!
