IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Not A Bad Tuesday

I see all these fruit trees around the Island are coming to bear. Maybe my little guy will bring me some orange treats next year. If you are looking for a home for your excess fruit please give me a call I’ll come and get them. I’d hate to see them go to waste with this juicer sitting on my counter.

NOT A CIVIC CLUB MEETING
The Civic Club officers are going to sit down at 6 this Thursday and make a rough draft of this years event calendar. Want to see up close what we are planning for the year? Drop by.

BOY SCOUTS
Is it time to replace your US Flag?

With January upon us, many people reflect on the previous year and look forward to the new year.  When you think about last year’s patriotic holidays and how you hung your United States of America flag, did you think it may be time to replace your flag?  Is it getting old, worn, tattered, frayed or faded beyond repair?  If you answered “yes”, then it is time for you to retire the flag, and NO, this does not mean simply throwing the flag in the trash can and purchasing another.  The flag is our symbol of our country, a symbol of our patriotism, a symbol of all those that have served and those that have fallen  defending our country.  This symbol should not simply be thrown away but instead the flag should be properly retired.  Boy Scout Troop 2322 will be conducting a flag retirement service in February of 2014 and encourages all residents of Clear Lake Shores to bring their US flags that need to be retired to the Clear Lake Shores City Hall during the month of January.  All flags brought to City Hall will be collected by Troop 2322 and will be included in their service.

I got this from neighbor Pricilla. I like it. Simplistic but close to home. We’ve been working his angle for a while now and it’s really a lot easier that you think. Give it a look.

The universe is full of magical things, patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper.

Do the folks building on South Shore know the top living floor has to be 40% smaller than the floor below it? The owner's are ultimately responsible for knowing the code. Who are they or the builder? Someone plz tell them before it is too late.

Rules smooles, cls don't follow no striking rules just ask Jackie, or the lady that lives a few houses up from that house or the house on pine and several others. Nobody is ultimately responsible for anything in cls
