IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Day 2

Need to look at different recipes for grass. The red, beet red, combo I had for breakfast left a little to be desired. Mostly taste. But it beets, pun intended, the green thing I had for lunch. Why does it smell so…………………green? This stuff needs some Tony’s. And some meat. 3 days to go.

Wonder if Chief Cook could get some of the ppl responsible for the child porn arrest to attend the mtg. so we could give them a standing ovation? Excellent job.

I totally call dibs on that juicer in 3 days. Are you starving or does it actually fill you up?

I am confused by the agenda. Do the Committees fall under Departments? Perhaps that is only once a month. Can anyone clarify? I want to hear how the dog park is progressing.

I am looking for some extra work. Guess I spent too much last month going up to Cleveland, Ohio to see my daughter. But I would do it again. Anyway...cleaning, painting, things like that. Done them both a long time and pretty darn good and am an honest person for honest wages. Contact me at marie.sweet69@yahoo.com

Did you ever think of selling the juice concoctions? It may be a great way to get some revenue.

I think CLS needs to have another fundraising event for Bay Area Pet Adoptions. I know we've held these before in the past. They are one of the few no kill shelters out there and it would be a shame for them to have to shut down. Any ideas Allen? Maybe another bbq/band thing?

If you want a fundraiser then might I suggest that you -
tell us your name.
contact the city about the use of the pavillion.
Pick a date.
Pick a theme.
Organize entertainment or food or an auction or a carwash or whatever it is that you think will raise the funds you seek. Then move ahead with your own plan.
OR - go to a Civic Club meeting and present your case. Offer to chair the event and utilize CC resources and experience to meet your goal.
I agree that it's easier to sit on your rump and suggest that somebody else take care of your personal favorite charity, but it's not quite as effective as doing it yourself.
