Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Hump Day

Kudos all around at last night’s meeting. First and foremost was the expediency with which the meeting was held. Wham, Bam, discussion, adjourned. I don’t know if that was a record but it was close. And congrats to the ladies in the office who make it all happen for their well-earned promotions. \

10 days to go before the Island Wide Garage Sale. Time to get your house on the map by dropping off your $5 bill at 318 Pine in the big mail box. Please remember to tell all your friends that are coming out to drive slow on our skinny little streets.

Island Wide Garage Sale
Sat., May 18th, 2013

Mark your calendars!  Clean out your closets!  It’s time once again to get ready for the CLS Annual Island Wide Garage Sale.  This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, May 18th, with a rain date of Saturday, May 25th.  The Civic Club will be selling food and drinks in the City Hall Parking Lot, and also on the North side of the Island.

As usual, all the proceeds from this great community event will go to the Civic Club.  Volunteers are needed to hand out maps, and cook and sell refreshments.

If you are interested in helping out please contact:
Diana & Bryan Hoerner
Something a little different this year. The Civic Club will have a table at the garage sale. It will be manned by, and all proceeds go to, the Parks Department. If you would like to donate something to this effort please contact one of the Parks folks or one of your Club Officers. Don’t know who’s on Parks? Go here

Movie Night is on deck. Dave is going to try for this Saturday night. I’ll keep you posted.

Election day is hours away. Make it count.

When a soldier is killed in the line of duty, his family eventually gets a flag and a note conveying sympathy and respect and from the United States Government.
When a pro basketball player announces he is gay, he immediately gets a personal phone call from the President congratulating him for his courage.
 Am I missing something?
