IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Easter Monday

What a Great weekend! Easter egg hunts, a concert in the park, Sunrise service, Awesome food and egg-ceptional deviled eggs and then topped off with much needed rain. Does it get any better? Win-win-win. And a great shout out to Vern and Glenn for unseating the reigning horseshoe champion, Kimmy Johnson, and winning the purse yesterday.  Rock on boys!

The girls team did win the scavenger hunt though. Team Wessels smoked the boys entry by a 2 to 1 margin to win lunch for three at Joe Lee’s. Ladies, I’ll bring you a gift certificate later this week and congratulations on your win!

Civic Club meeting on Thursday!

The Community Garden is taking off, but it takes the "Community" to keep it going.  We need supplies and donations such as gardening tools, fertilizers, tomato cages, gift certificates to Maas or Home Depot, vegetables, herbs, picnic bench, umbrella for shade, anything just laying around that you are not using for your own garden.

Planted - Celery, Radish, Rosemary, Italian Oregano, Zucchini, Thyme, Parley, Cilantro, Dill, Basil, Sage, Swiss Chard (Rhubarb Red & Fordhook Giant), Spinach, Arugula, TOMATOES....Cherry, Roma, Beef Steak, Early Goliath & Sweet Cherry. PEPPERS...Jalapeno, Yellow Sweet, Serrano, Hot Cherry, Bell, Mild and Hot Poblano.  Corn and Watermelon Patch.

Ready to Clip - Lettuce, Spinach, Italian Oregano, Sage, Rosemary and Dill.  Please clip the large leaves.  Cherry Tomatoes will be ready soon!

Whatever you would like to see in the Community Garden, please feel free to go and plant it. We have 3 garden plots that are ready to plant in.  If you don't like getting your hands dirty, we will gladly accept donations!  Drop off either at the Community Garden between Elm and Dogwood on Clear Lake Road or 123 Pine.

Happy Gardening!

Sincerely,
Jennifer Moon-Ruocco

A certain person has no place on ZBOA. They do not support local business. Their property does not comply with ordinances.

Janet Horton is a one note volunteer, and that note is to keep the Sandbar from reopening, She bought her house from the owner of the bar and then spent the Rest of her life trying to get the bar shut down. Have never seen her at a council meeting or a civic function.
