IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

HOT!!

off the wire! Get your Geek on!!  Disney is buying Lucasfilm with plans for a new Star Wars movie in 2015! I think I’m having palpitations…..

I love a story with a happy ending. I was notified, rather quickly, last night that the participants in the physics experiment relating to the tensile strength of glass were informed their collective efforts had not gone unnoticed and they had been dispatched, post haste, to the scene to collect the evidence of their poor choice. Bravo! As I passed along to the dad, That is exactly what makes this place great! It wasn’t that long ago my family was enjoying dinner down at San Lorenzos, my phone rang and it was one of our officers asking if this was Waytts dad.

Early Voting ends Friday. You don’t have to do this the hard way, you just have to do it.

YAY FOR FRIDAY!

And a cold front. Anybody seen it yet? I voted last night. Early voting is definitely the way to go. No lines. I waltzed in to the Kemah Community Center and it was like a family reunion. The same ladies that were serving as election judges all three time I voted this year were there. We had a fun chat. They all remembered what a fun place Clear Lake Shores was when they were here in the Club House during the Island Wide Garage Sale. Can’t say I disagree.

I talked to Frank about the status of Chill. Not the news I wanted. It’s on hold until he can find a suitable partner. Sounds like the last one stiffed him good. Paul is planning his retirement party. He’s looking at after the first of the year. No assholes allowed so if you don’t get an invite…..

And for my inlaws, who I found out mere moments ago, are coming for a long overdue visit...
I was in a bar last Saturday night, and drank a few, and noticed two very large women by the bar.
They both had pretty strong accents, so I asked, "Hey, are you two ladies from Ireland ?"
One of them chirped saying, "It's WALES , you friggin' idiot!"
So, I immediately apologized and said, "I'm sorry. Are you two whales from Ireland ?"
That's pretty much the last thing I remember.

Happy Birthday To..

Steph. And many more my dear. Just read a Forbes report on what dead guy makes the most money. Nope, not Elvis, he only made 55M last year. Michael Jackson used to be number 1 at 145M last year. Not bad for a dead guy. Liz Taylor. She made 210 million freakin’ dollars last year.
