Schwarzkopf General, U.S. Army (ret) shares his birthday today with two of our neighbors who are much cuter and a whole lot younger than the good Generals 78 years. When you see Donna Holder or Philis Christeson tell them Happy Birthday!
A shout out to City employee Angie Galvan for getting enough certifications to become our first Code Enforcement officer. Is that a correct title?
From neighbor Bryan,
City Council Meetings
I attended the City Council Meeting last night, and I have a question – “Where is everybody?”.
When we had serious issues over the last year with the way the city was being led the meetings were standing room only. Now that the silent majority finally woke up and worked together to correct the terrible situation we had somehow gotten ourselves into, everyone seems to have disappeared.
I will admit that the meetings over the past year were much more entertaining than they are now which certainly led to the increased attendance. Sitting there and observing some of those meetings was like a watching a reality show about a train wreck. But, quiet and boring meetings are good too as it means people are working together, discussing issues as mature adults, and things are getting done that affect the residents, so you should be there to provide your input.
Please consider attending as many meetings as you can, and support the current Council and Staff. I can tell you from experience that it is pretty disappointing to sit behind that table and look out into the audience and see rows and rows of empty chairs.

SEE! I’m not the only one who recognizes the need to participate! I know it’s easy to let someone else do it but each one of you has a duty to contribute. This is one very small way to meet that commitment. ab.
