IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Ready or not...

Zero to two in 48 hrs. Looks like we might get some rain from Ernesto next weekend. I guess we could use the rain.

The Civic Club has hired an attorney to straighten out our decades old mess. I'll keep you posted on his progress. I expect it won't take long and we'll get our BBQ cook off back on track. I'm going outside to fire up my smoker.

A Shout out to Rob Scherer for stepping up! Looks like P & Z is getting a new set of eyes. Now to get some more of you to get on board. R & D and the Waterfront compliance committees are loking for a few good folks. What are you waiting for? Call Karen!

From Neighbor Steve. Thanks SP! The Curiosity Mars Rover, a rover approximately the size of a Volkswagen, will land on Mars on 05 August 2012 about 8:30 pm CDST. Signals from the complex Lander System take 14 minutes to get from Mars back to NASA on Earth. From the start of entry into the Martian Atmosphere to final touchdown of the Curiosity Rover takes 7 minutes, so the Mission Control folks talk about the “Seven Minutes of Terror” they will have to wait through to know if the Rover is dead or alive.

The video “Seven Minutes of Terror” is very good, and can be seen at:
