Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Special Saturday

There are other ways I would rather have spent my Saturday morning. I’m guessing I’m not alone because it was a packed house, which I guess is a good thing. Means you’re paying attention. A lot of unfamiliar faces which I though odd. Other than that it was all the usual suspects. There are still a lot of unhappy people on this Island, most of them were out on the deck. How sad. I don’t understand the whole “we’re gonna get the mayor/chief/secretary/blog guy” mentality. If you are that unhappy move or open a vein. I must say that it was the best City Council meeting I’ve been to in over a year. No fighting, no arguing, no petty, snarky, remarks. If today’s meeting is any indication of meetings to come, We’ve done good with this bunch. The short version is we get a do over. Both the Chief and Officer Janssen will start not necessarily from scratch but from a new spot and each will do a better job of doing their job. I call that a win win. Being the optimist I am I see this as a good second step on the road to normalcy. There was a great report from our council committee on police departments overall. The most interesting point to me was the fact that after all the shit we’ve been through over our Police department and it’s retention rate is that, Oh Look We’re normal. So all the whining from so many over the fact that we’ve lost soooo many officers is just x amount of gas. Who knew. Another great point was that we are the ONLY city in the survey that puts our Council between a Chief and his staff. That needs to change. I will say in this case I’m glad it worked the way it did but I also think that if everyone followed procedures it never would have come to this. We’ll see. Before I go about enjoying my Saturday I want to thank whoever brought the donuts and kolache’s. To Council, great job. First class.

Vern couldn't shut up and loves to listen to himself including the video of him stating he was going to get those three Police Officers. Al Burns was three shades of green when he realized he wasn't going to get to fire a Police Officer. He also popped off "On to phase 2".

As a distractor of the newly elected, I must admit I could ask for nothing more of a Politician then what they did, follow the letter of the law and have a respectful demeanor toward all parties involved. The same can't be said for Al Burns or Vern. To get back to normalcy will require replacements for those two.

The City Attorney needs to be replaced. He stated that Denise could be fired. That dumb-ass is the reason we are involved in so many lawsuits now if that is the kind of advice he has been handing out. We need a new law firm who can give competent advice and keep us out of lawsuits, especially those we have lost before we start.

Ken needs a letter in his file, saying follow your own procedures or you will be fired. I believe Sowrey said something like that too.

To Amanda, Arlene, Carlo and Richard - a job well done. Not because of the decision but because you kept the law book/rules and showed that this City Council would attempt to follow them. You have gained my respect and I hope you keep earning it. Most applauded at the decision of the City Council.

I think there are changes for the better coming and we need to let the police chief run his department, also I believe a police benefit is in order. I will talk to Alan and Chief Cook about that maybe October when it is cool.

Today was a shining example of what we wanted to have for a City Council. All present listened patiently and respectfully to both sides, asked intellegent questions, considered what was best for the island and made an excellant judgement that left no one feeling like one side or the other won. Everyone won today!! There was the usual group on the patio showing a video of Vern at sunset (anybody wonder who that good friend undercover taper was - I think I do). Tami felt she had to play it in city council meeting during a break but her computer sound was bad and everyone just thought she was rude watching loud videos in the meeting. Someone was shouting on the deck that Vern has 2 social securitiy numbers. I wanted to ask them if in their investigation they may have actually discovered two Vern Johnsons. Jackie warned Dave and I to just wait and see what happens next. Oh brother. On the fun side - concert tonight. Sure looking forward to seeing you all there.

Anonymous said...

It was nice to see a great Council behind the tables. We have turned a corner for the better.

What could Jackie have up his sleeve? A lot of bitterness that he can't do what ever he wants to. Sorry Jackie there are rules that even you have to follow. You have trashed that part of the city long enough. Your day has come. Deal with it or move. A lien is one thing, being sued for defamation and slander is another.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Adelia for including the part of Tami not getting it right again. Amazing she even shown her face but I am thrilled she heard the committee's report. A year wasted due in part by her.

Let me see if I have this right... Junkyard Jackie violates ordinances again and again, thumbing his nose at them as if rules do not apply to him. He stated in the GDN this is all about retaliation - which it is not. Then he tells Adelia and Dave "to just wait and see what happens next." Sounds like he is the one retaliating.

Who was the lady with the laptop? Was she recoding the meeting? Does she record all the meetings? Why? Why did the Mayor tell her to turn it off? Who was the mad person yelling at the two men in the front row? What was he mad about? I was right there and it didn't make sense. A confused fly on the wall....

I guess the newbie impersonator is back. Ha!

I realize that Vern and Al have more insight into the past situations with Sgt. Denise and understand their frustrations.

I am sorry to hear Cook was beyond under prepared. That will not fly with the crew you have now. To clean house you need thick folders, very thick folders. Get it going Kenny or go back to asst chief - but you will always have to document. No one like it but that's how it is played

To our Clear Lake Shores neighbors,

Some of you may have noticed the banner on our home of our son Nicholas Broussard and wondered what it was all about.

Before I get into the banner I’d like to tell you something about Nick. Nick has always been a self motivated hard working young man with big dreams. His dreams and hard work earned him a place at the West Point Military Academy where he graduated in May 2011. From there he went on to Army Ranger School in Fort Benning, Georgia. He passed the training and is now a 2LT in the United States Army. Shortly after graduating from Ranger school Nick deployed to Afghanistan where he will be serving for the next nine months.

The banner was inspired by a trip we took to California last March. The City of Huntington Beach has lined their streets with banners just like ours honoring their “Home Town Herro’s” . When we returned home we decided to have one made for our home town hero. We hope that when you pass by and see it you will say a prayer for Nick and all of the men and women serving this great country of ours.

Stop on by If you would like to have information on how you can get a banner made for your home town hero.

Kindest regards,
Casey & Laura

Have any of the realtors concered waving a carrot in front of Jackie's nose. Give him a rough estimate of what both of his properties are worth. Perhaps if he see big $$$ signs he will consider moving. Would it be possible for the city to drop the lien in exchange with a written agreement he could never own property, rent property or live with someone in CLS ever again. Wouldn't that be another win-win for him and all that he is hurting?

Anonymous said...

Sure, cops can be friends with whoever they want, but under the emotionally charged circumstances Saturday I thought it was not appropriate that Ross went up and whispered into Tami's ear and after the meeting Nick had lunch with Tami and Jackie at Jackies Brickhouse. Obvious some of our police are still tied to the NS gang and proud of it.

Anonymous said...

Just because you are emotionally charged doesn't mean anybody else is. Go see your Psyc or cry on your Mama's shouldier. If you would spend less time stalking you wouldn't sound so creepy.

Maybe the Police need to get a warrant for this posting to be sure we don't have a terrorist in our mist.

Anonymous said...

I don't get how some of these cops are involved with NS. If they value their jobs you'd think they would wise up. Didn't the election tell them anything? I am so disappointed in some that I really admired.

Anonymous said...

No one is stalking. No one. This is a small town and just about everything is seen especially in public places.Duh...

I think it kills NS that their antics can't be hided due to this wonderful blog.

The only creepy crap comes from NS. And there was the YouTube of Larry that we all saw...

Anonymous said...

I heard that our cops don't want to serve warrants. Wasnt that one of the charges against Denise?

Nick having lunch with Tami and Jackie would be a great example of something that needs to be in Nicks employment file. Imagine a police officer having lunch outside the city with a person our City has filed a lawsuit against. did he still have his uniform on or had he changed into plain clothes? a good question for Kenny to ask him.

Anonymous said...

Creepy? Define creepy. I would say taking frog yard art to examine more closely because you think they are having sex is creepy let alone stealing. Larry's UTube video of him wanting to slice his son's neck goes beyond creepy. I saw nothing creepy in the above post.

Anonymous said...

Karen, it's time to hire the part time person Tami and Jackie approved a couple of months ago to help you with paperwork. This new hire can help Kenny compile the paperwork he needs to document insubordination and misconduct in the PD.

Don't forget that the police department works for the 'Mayor and citizens, and the citizens spoke at the elections.

Anonymous said...

If Nick was off duty there is nothing there that can be put in his file.

If any officer continues to claim they will not serve a warrant unless they are paid overtime, that goes into their file.

Got those files going yet, Kenny? I am still amazed you were not ready for Denise. Unbelievable.

Anonymous said...

This is getting creepier, if that is even possible. Are you some of those children from Nazi Germany that reported on their parents and friends?

You are dictating who someone can have lunch with? According to you, having lunch with someone you Pinko's don't approve of can go in your employment file? Is this 1940s Nazi Germany or just a bunch of self-righteous assholes pissed because no one is bowing and kissing your feet? Even those you elected have a mind of their own and chose to follow the rules and not throw them out like Vern said do.

These postings need to be in the Daily to show just how creepy self-righteous hypocrites are.

This Blog is the greatest evidence of where to find bully's, self-righteous hypocrites, stalkers, assaulters of women, loud mouth blow hearts and on and on…

Anonymous said...

Has anyone noticed all the new frog yard art in Lynda's yard? She has not bought them. People are dropping them off and she has no idea who they are. CLS likes to have fun.

Anonymous said...

Bernie, just sign your name. Your post about Nazi Germany is obviously you. LMAO

Anonymous said...

No, it's not 1940 Nazii Germany, it's third world police state where military overthrew the government and took over.

Unthinkable it could happen in the USA.

Anonymous said...

Bernie, When you said, "Even those you elected have a mind of their own and chose to follow the rules" you could not be talking about Junkyard Jackie who was elected by NS and thumbs his nose at rules. For years he could not clean up even when your wife was Mayor sort of and she sent Paul to Jackies. You could not mean John Wright who NS got elected. He was on council when the ordinance was passed that he since violated.Look in the mirror before making such wild claims.

Anonymous said...

I for one am amused when Bernie posts. Thank you Bern. You provide so much insight into your being.

You went to court once and lost. You are now on probation which I am sure is inhibiting your mode of operation. How many counts are there coming your way in 10 months. I heard it was over 70. Is that true?

Anonymous said...

I for one hopes Vern's first order of business today was to write up Kenny for not being prepared for Denise. Documenting is all part of the job.

Anonymous said...

I for one hope the first order of business is to put on the agenda that firing of PD do not have to be approved by council. Saturday was a public spectacle that should never have happened In public.

second order of business should be to abolish the entire police department and contract with the Sheriffs Dept. to protect us. that is working fine in Balciff and San Leon. A year from now if we weren't happy with Sheriffs Dept we could hire a new police chief and go from a there.

Anonymous said...

I wonder if contracting with the Sheriff would be less expensive. If it would, it certainly is should be considered since what we've got is way below par.

To Dave, what are you thinking to have a benefit for the cops? If we had a group that weren't in line with NS it would be a whole different story. Perhaps once the weeds are pulled from the group it would be a good idea.

Anonymous said...

I like the idea of contracting with the Sheriff's dept for a year. Maybe at the end of that year Tina could be the chief. If Paul decides to stay on as CA it would be better than before!!

Anonymous said...

Working great in Bacliff and San Leon: It is a third world country there.

Prostitution, gambling/gambling fronts, drugs, crack houses and shootings. Prostitutes walk the streets and gambling houses open faster than they can close them. They would probably hire our Officers to fill the new contract too.

Then again, we may have tickets issued for unregistered vehicles on the road, arrest for violations of TABC (not Chief guarding illegal acts), loud music shut down, public intox, arrest for stalking and assault... damn you may have a great idea and then the DA can use the SO to serve warrants and subpoenas for records into public corruption.

You might want to run your idea pass Paul before you go any further, it might catch on then where would the City Officials be???

Anonymous said...

Who ever came up with the idea of contracting with the Sheriff's dept is brilliant. It may save us a ton of money that could be saved to establish salaries in line with other CLS size cities. We could offer a good benefit pkg.

And yes, let's get Tina back as Chief and keep Paul as City Admin.

Anonymous said...

why run it by Paul?

Have you forgotten that JohN Pruitt, veteran in the Sheriff dept., spoke at Tina's going away party and allowed a letter to be published about what a fantastic cop she was?

Anonymous said...

NS snakes were not allowed at Tina's party.

Anonymous said...

I was working in Bacliff yesterday. a drunk woman was staggering down the street. she got one block, sat down in the ditch and then laid down in the ditch. I didn't call the Sheriff but I guess someone else's did. Within 5 minutes the Sheriff patrol car was there dealing with the situation.

Anonymous said...

that's quicker than it takes our cops to get from Starbucks in Kemah to Clear Lake Shores.

Anonymous said...

I say run it by Tina and Paul. It may be the incentive Paul needs to stay on. Tina would have a much higher salary and having so much time gone by, she may be ready to return.

The sheriff would need to be briefed on the culture of CLS. Yes, we gather at Sunset and there may be adult beverages. No one would discourage drunks not being arrested. Of course they should be!
Yes, we drive golf carts but anyone running a stop sign should be ticketed. And I so hate to see the underage drivers of golf carts.
Yes, we have beer and margaritas at Civic Club events. The donations are to raise funds for the Civic Club.

In other words, there are some things about CLS that has been and always should be a part of who we are!

Anonymous said...

I am remembering the falling down drunk @ Pine and Forrest. He should have been arrested many more times than he was.

Anonymous said...

The Sheriff wouldn't have to cater to special interest, "CLS Culture", or poliiticians here. The Sheriff's Deputies would follow the letter of law and I think that would be great.

Golf carts that are used on the public streets need to have lights, tail lights, mirrors, a slow moving vehicle sign on the back of the vehicle, parking brakes, blinkers, reflectors, and blinkers.

I believe that takes care of the golf carts onto the loud music and violations of noise ordiances, and drinking/selling laws.

The investigating agency for corruption would now be the Sheriff too. This could be great chance to clean up CLS.

Anonymous said...

I agree donations for beer at the Civic Club's events is hardly a criminal act. Get off your soapbox Bernie. Especially since you are the one on probabation and have another huge trial to go. Time will tell who the real bullies and criminals are.

Anonymous said...

That is where you are wrong. I am not Bernie and I hate the drinking and drunks and the idiots in the golf carts. I have called Paul, Tina and Cook. They didn't do anything. Get the Sheriff here and I believe I can get them to put and end to this. I beieve Cook can tell you how serious TABC is. I am just fed up with the BS and proud of Carlo and Amanda starting to take care of business.

I don't see a problem with donations for adult beverages at Civic Club sponsored activities!

You are such a party pooper. As said above, Bernie, you are the criminal and it has been caught on tape.

As for being called self-righteous assholes pissed because no one is bowing and kissing your feet?bully's, self-righteous hypocrites, stalkers, assaulters of women, loud mouth blow hearts and on and on… You really need to get out of the house more and if you want to call names and make accusations have the guts to put your name on it.
As to "Even those you elected have a mind of their own and chose to follow the rules" Yea thats why we elected them - they don't have a personal vendeta agenda just what is best for the city. That is all we asked of our last councel and never got.

We had one, on the golf course. Not driven by kids on the streets, not driven while drinking (can't do that in my car), having them pulling in front of you off side streets, running stop signs, on the main thoroughfares and not on sidewalls running down pedestrians. There is a place for everything and the golf cart privileges have been abused and the people confronted with the golf carts too. If I am ever hit, or hit a golf cart, I will sue the owner, the riders, the Police Dept. for failing to enforce the law and the City for every dollar I can get. Then I will donate the money to Mother's against drunk drivers.
I think the Sheriff taking over policing would be a great idea.

I personally LOVE my golf cart. I take it everywhere I can when I am home. If anyone is driving one drunk, not stopping at the stop signs, or driving without a license that law has been enforced in the past and should continue to be enforced. As for driving on the sidewalls um not sure and have we ever had a pedestrian run down by a golf cart? The people confronted with the carts have been abused too? What?? If my cart ever tries to confront me I will slap it silly. You sound a little sue happy to me. Sounds like you belong to the no fun for anyone so they can be as miserable as I am group. Hope you get some friends and a golf cart soon.

If you don't like the way we choose to live on the island move, but don't change what makes it special for the rest of us. I will say I agree on the young kids drivng the carts though. That annoys me also.

Allen Cruthirds says:
Hey folks let’s slow down with all this talk about having the Sheriff take over the duties of policing the island. We should be careful before we go down that road. CLS is a unique place with some nuances that make it so very special to most Islanders’. For the most part our police do a very good job and they do not hassle us on minor things. This is because they understand the tone and cadence of CLS. In fact they probably let some things go that may be more strictly enforced by the Sheriff’s department. Let’s make sure we think this thing through. BTW the Sheriff’s department is also political.

KRS said...

Whoa! If anyone doesn't like the golf carts why did you move here? I, like Adelia, love my cart and use it everywhere locally. I take it to Walmart, Walgreens and Home Depot and over to Kemah. It's saved me a lot of money on gas. I have never run a stop sign or cut a car off. One of reasons I love it here are the golf carts and the ducks. One of my pet peeves is against the folks who buy houses on the water and then bitch about the birds.

Maybe you are out of place and should go to South Shore. This is a laid back island atmosphere and we have the requisite partying that goes along with that lifestyle. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that you should try and ruin it for others. I agree about the kids though.

Anonymous said...

"on the main thoroughfares and not on sidewalls running down pedestrians."

What? I've never seen a golf cart hit a pedestrian or come close to one. What main thoroughfares are you talking about. We can be on roads with 30 MPH or under postings and can cross on the lights to go to Target and Valero. I've never seen a golf cart going down Marina Bay Blvd with the exceptions of a short little distance when no cars are around. Why does this bother you so much? If you ever hit a golf cart your ass will be the one sued as long as they were obeying the law. More than likely they will be dead too.

Back to reality and positive stuff. Can't wait to hear what is happening with the Town Center, Ronnie. Will the lights over the bridge be installed for our 50th Anniv. in Nov.? It would be great if the first banners to hang could be in celebration of our anniversary. That would be awesome.

Anonymous said...

How are you getting to Target, Home Deport or Kemah without going down the sidewalk? I saw the kids in the cart damn near run down the people on the bridge that were walking. The people had to get out of the way because the golf cart couldn't go anywhere else. 2094's speed limit is 40mph. During the Space Shuttle carts were whipping in and out of cars and a load of kids pulled right out in front of me. 20mph is what saved them and the fact I was paying attention. They didn't give a damn and kept going.

How many qualify to be on a Public Road:
Golf carts that are used on the public streets need to have lights, tail lights, mirrors, a slow moving vehicle sign on the back of the vehicle, parking brakes, blinkers, reflectors, and blinkers.

Get the Sheriff in here and just like South Shore, their won't be this BS. Drinking, carts and who you know can get you over attitude will be gone. These lightweight politicians don't mean a dam thing to Galveston Politics or the Sheriff's Office. They won't have a Deputy defy TABC like Cook did.

Ask Alan, Vern, Paul or Cook. TABC paid them a visit about the beer sales. I do believe they said you don't want us to come back. But then the Civic Club and Alan didn't learn their lesson. A video of the sales are on the way to TABC and now the admissions on here today have already been faxed to their office. I don't believe there will be a second warning.

Like I said, when did Cook defy TABC rules? If you meant the time the keg temporarily wasout of order, there were no violations since donations were not collected and the keg was donated.

More importantly, why are you hell bent on the Civic Club raising funds by asking for donations? Are you helping them to raise funds? What a party pooper.

Anonymous said...

When was TABC at City Hall? Why didn't we hear this at a counsel meeting?

Anonymous said...

Save it for the jury. It is well documented that the keg was in working order and money was collected. One Blogger went so far as to be angry that the buyers only paid a dollar for the beer.

This Blog is great for documentation and TABC already has the truth from Cook. You really don't want to lie to those boys.

Hi y'all. I try not to pop in here too often but from time to time One liar will find a keyboard and just waste perfectly good bandwidth. It's sad that one of our neighbors feels this way but as you know it takes all kinds to fill up an island. Don't waste you time trying to "fix" them. They will die in due time. The TABC was not at the Civic Club crawfish boil and fish fry. That is a lie. Officer Yealy was. Since they were not there the whole (best Arnold voice) I'll be Back is a lie too. Readers you need to understand ther are some of your friends and neighbors that would positivley wet themselves if they could get me arrested again. It doesn't matter if they have to tell a lie either. But know this assholes it won't be cheap. Ask Babs. As for the whole "I hate buggies" thing. I don't care what you like. If you're that upset I'd suggest you call your mama. And you didn't cut and paste shit from a state website. The Texas legislature dropped golf carts from their required registration roles two or three years ago. Blinkers? Shut up. I will give you this, Keep your kids out from behind the wheel! You must be a licensed driver to drive a golf cart on the street. That was a waste of time. You, buttplug! Go to the other end of the internet and play for a while and let the grown ups talk.

Anonymous said...

Alan, you are just as dumb as you look if anyone believes the above after reading this Blog for the last year and you can't read either, but your intent is spin this:

I said TABC came to see Cook and did have others in that meeting also. If TABC had been at the Crawfish Boil and beer was being sold, we wouldn't be having this discussion for you, the buyer of the keg and the money collector would know your rights and the results of knowing them.

Cook was told you need a license from TABC to sell or collect donations for beer. You bragged you were taking a class for that on the Blog. You have continued to sell beer and alcohol at Civic Club meetings. You don't have a permit or license to sell alcohol. It has been recorded on video at the Civic Club Meetings of you selling alcohol, so the Blog only supports the fact you did it and failed to honor the warning given to Cook.

You are a LIAR and not one word out of your mouth can ever be taken for truth. You have been proven a liar on your Blog multiple times. If you do go to jail or receive a fine, it is because you believe you are above the law and continued to sell alcohol without a TABC Permit.

Golf Carts, LSVs, NEVs, ROVs, & ATVs

Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs), also known as Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs), and golf carts are regulated by state and federal laws. Registered, titled and insured NEVs may be legally driven at a maximum speed of 35 mph on public roads with a posted speed limit of 45 mph or less, unless a city or county ordinance prohibits their operation.

The TxDMV does not title or register golf carts. However, state law provides an exception in Grayson County, allowing those residents to purchase "golf cart" license plates. Golf cart owners who received a title before the law changed on September 1, 2009, are not required to return their titles to the TxDMV.

For Driver License requirements to operate any of these vehicles, contact your local law enforcement agency.

What are the rules regarding Low-Speed and Neighborhood Electric Vehicles?
What are the rules regarding golf carts?
A vehicle is classified as a golf cart if it:

has no less than three wheels,
has a normal maximum speed of between 15-25 mph, and
is manufactured primarily for operation on golf courses.
TxDMV does not register or title golf carts.

Registration is not needed to operate your golf cart on a public road. State law allows for use of golf carts with a slow-moving vehicle emblem in the following situations:

in master planned communities with a uniform set of restrictive covenants in place,
on public or private beaches,
during the daytime and no more than two miles from where the owner usually parks the golf cart and for transportation to or from a golf course, or
to cross intersections, including a road or street that has a posted speed limit of more than 35 miles per hour.
A city can pass a local ordinance allowing for use of golf carts on additional roads. The road must be within the boundaries of the city and with a speed limit of 35 mph or lower.

In these cases, the golf cart must be insured and have the following minimum equipment:

headlamps,
tail lamps,
reflectors,
parking brake,
mirrors, and
a slow-moving vehicle emblem.
The state, a county, or a city may prohibit golf cart operation on all or part of a public road in the interest of safety.

There are adult beverages sold at the Civic Club mtgs? Where was it and how did I miss it? Darn. I'll look better next month!

I agree, Allan. Let's ignore NS.

Frankly who cares about Bernie or the NS gang. Ignore them, the CLS Tide is going out!!!! Let Chief Cook do his job and if you think the Sheriff will be here as quick or do a better job than the CLS PD you are mistaken. How many Sheriff department cars do you see ever driving down 2094, I can honestly say in the past 5 years or so I have seen maybe 2 or 3. Although there may be one on the Island soon to pick up Bernie, transporting him to jail.

Really? We just celebrated Peace for a unified council, a huge response for the civic club! ...No more drama. How do we all get along? We have fun and at the end of the day...we take care of one another. There is always a battle on this island and I am sick of it. I moved here for a reason.

your not looking hard enough there are at least five sherrif cars a day at the hoagie ranch usually at the same time

"How are you getting to Target, Home Deport or Kemah without going down the sidewalk?"

What? You obviously know nothing about the city if you think we can't go anywhere without using sidewalks. Go down Birch and next to Stewart Elementary and cross at the light.

let the gcsd take over our law enforcement are you pepole f-f-ing nuts bernie might be right some of us may be drinking too much

Anonymous said...

Stop, no more bitching. Please someone tell me something that was a blessing or made you laugh today?

Anonymous said...

Anyone who lives here knows how to get to Target without using a sidewalk. Christ on a cracker!

I saw a humingbird and the first June bug flew into my drink. June and the June Bugs shows up on time.

Let's talk 50th Anniv. This is a big deal. Why not ask on here if someone would chair the fireworks committee?

The book is covered. The golf cart parade is covered. (The route should go by Target.)

What else do we have going on?

I wanted this to be so positive but...wish the bricks for the parks weren't $50 bucks. Not sure about a boat parade in Nov.

Come on folks. We are a creative bunch. What else can we do?

I just heard a bump in the night and got up to check it out. I have my phone set to call 911 and with the hate I have seen on here today, I wonder who and if anyone would show up in time were I or my family to call. I guess, no, I know that is the difference between being a professional and what might be called a Citizen on here. Denise and Ross would be here doing their job even knowing I maybe one of the Citizens who has put the Police Force down this pass week. The same pathetic Citizens who have hungered for their blood wouldn't hesitate to call 911 and expect them to show up and protect their families from that bump in the night. My bump was the neighbors dog and back to sleep I go.

PS: I just decided my little SUV will be in the shop this week being upgraded to meet the standards and I will add it to my insurance. I see the point being made and it isn't about how I get there. So one an all, you will know who this is when you see my golf cart being loaded up for the trip to the shop. Good night and God Bless those who I don't think about until I call 911. Amen

Just curious but how many little bumps in the night to you hear? I leave my doors unlocked at night many times (just forget to lock them) and I've never had anyone sneak in. I feel totally safe in Clear Lake Shores. It's one of the reasons I live here. Along that line of thinking, San Leon and Bacliff are known meth producing areas. Total shit holes. My realtor warned me about those areas when I was looking down here. Getting rid of our PD would be a bad idea.

Adding a final note. Some people just love a good fight and I once again got lured into responding to their nonsense. I am going to try my best to ignore them like a buzzing fly. Tonight we get some good information from the EDC on our upcoming town center so you will want to attend. Conflicting with that we have our own Ben Reyna playing at T Bone Toms. I think this is his first gig there and I am sure he could use our support so he gets to play there more often. Go by and have some great T Bone food and let them know you are there because of Ben. The sherrif came by sunset last night (patrolling? or called? who knows) For all the talk yesterday about them taking over I got to tell you it sure felt odd to have them there instead of ours. Contrary to blog BS there was no drunk fest going on so they kept on moving. We all discussed and I think have made clear that the kids and golf carts DO NOT MIX. If you have your kids out there driving them be aware there will probably be another crack down soon.

Lost in the mess but not ignored:

Casey & Laura
Thanks for sharing the information about Nick with us. It is far more important than any of the other topics we have been discussing here. We held a drive a couple of years ago to collect things soldiers could use and shipped them to Bonnie's brother. A lot of people got behind that and I think the same could happen again if you put the word out and organized something. Probably could be done through the civic club. The wonderful person (did I mention Larry) who volunteered to pay for the shipping was our savior of the hour but you could probably also collect donations for that. If you decide to do something like that I will help.

Adelia,
Thank you for the kind words regarding Nick. I sent him a care package this week and plan to send one to him a couple of times a month. Other family members are doing the same so I think we have him and his buddies covered. Please stop by the house sometime, I’d love to meet you.
