Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

D-Day

I had an uncle that survived. Every time I see pictures of that.....

We made the front page of the GCDN again. I’ll let you decide if it is for the better or not. It was a good meeting last night. Council voted on two items. Both were unanimous, both saved us money, no bickering. Out in time for sunset! Just the way it used to be! Thank you Lord! And you Vern. http://galvestondailynews.com/comments/320098

It’s officially summer time and all the Little Darlings are out of school. They wanna go here they wanna go there. “It’s too hot to ride my bike/skateboard/walk” will you take me?” Just because they’re out of school doesn’t make your work load any lighter and in many cases it adds a lot more. Before you hand jr. the keys to your golf cart read this……

1944 - In Normandy, France, the Second Ranger Battalion, lead by James Earl Rudder stormed the beach at Pointe du Hoc. Later in life Rudder became president of Texas A&M. In 1967, President Lyndon B. Johnson awarded Rudder with the Distinguished Service Medal.

The best part of last night was Paul's letter talking about how we need to move forward, work together, and heal the damage that has been done. At the end everyone gave him, and his letter, a standing ovation. Everyone, that is, except 3 individuals - Kathy, her sister, and Junkyard Jackie.

They stayed sitting down with everyone else standing up around all them and basically swallowing them up.

They wouldn't even clap. What sad and pathetic individuals. It must kill Kathy to be now be such an irrelevant part of this city.

I agree with you, Scott. Paul's comment was great. He called the previous council ineffective. I would take that a bit further and say counter productive to growth and fiscal responsibility. I can't wait to hear the official audit results. Luckily he can sue the pants off of all NS.

Speaking of lawsuits, mark your calendars for Aug 13. Be in Judge Ellisor's courtroom. It should be interesting to see John Wright take responsibility for flooding his neighbor. He sat on council when this ordinance was passed. Then he violated it. He was not alone since his builder was aware of the codes. Maybe not.

Last night's Council meeting was awesome. Paul did a great job with his opening comment.

I had goosebumps watching Carlo, Amanda and Richard sworn in as our leaders. Finally leaders that will lead this community to a better place. Thank you.

TO ALL THOSE WHO DIDN'T VOTE - WHO WAS THE LIAR ABOUT EMINENT DOMAIN? WHO LIED TO YOU?

OUR DEAR CITY COUNCIL'S FIRST ACTS:

d. Resolution 2012-04: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLEAR LAKE
SHORES, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT A LETTER TO THE COMPTROLLER OF
PUBLIC ACCOUNTS DETAILING THE CITY’S LEGAL AUTHORITY TO EXERCISE THE POWER OF
EMINENT DOMAIN, AS REQUIRED BY SENATE BILL 18 ENACTED BY THE 82ND LEGISLATURE.

Anonymous said...

To the above poster about eminent domain - I guess you were NOT at the CC mtg last night where all this was explained.

Some people here don't vote and some do not attend Council mtgs. I don't understand either. You can have such an impact doing both.

Anonymous said...

Confused by the lying comments in anon's post. The only folks known to lie, especially prior to an election, are NS folks. Could you specify who you are referring to?

I thought a great explaination was given last night. If a property is condemned...

Anonymous said...

Nothing was explained to my understanding. It was all denied prior to the election that this would happen. Mike Bass, Alan ... on and on said the City would never do this. One lie after another. Now they are doing exactly what I said would happen.

Tindel and Aspen bend over the City Council, Paul and Vern are fixing to serve you up all in name of the EDC, Plaza 10 06 and Greed!

The Petition needs to be started to put this to a Vote by the Citizens so eminent domain cannot happen without a Vote of the Citizens.

Anonymous said...

Anyone else seen the sign up stating Paul is the Chief of Police?

What secret meeting did this happen in?

Craig said...

Untill eminent domaine is used to take someones property, no one lied about anything. If it is used to take someones property and if it is done for anything other than a dire emergency or something critical to the safety of our citizens then I will be the first one amongst many others that will be protesting the use of the law. Until then they have done nothing more than file a required document with the state to keep the option open if needed in an emergency. Anon you are obviously an ill informed member of NS who was either not there last night or is as clueless as the rest of your gang. No one has lied so shut the hell up or sign your name coward.

Yaaaaawnnn.....

It was actually explained perfectly last night. That was the best job I have seen our Attorney do in years. That was not meant as a put downagainst past performance. I just think he did a really good job explaining this particular item in advance of the vote. And it was a unanimous vote, which you failed to mention of course, so I guess all 5 Council members are in on the conspiracy as well? Good stuff.

Go back to sleep.

Anonymous said...

Nothing was explained!!!!!!! The city attorney explained it at length. Maybe nothing was explained to your understanding but most idiots dont understand much.

Anonymous said...

go back to yelling at pepole for walking on your waterfront and stay out of politics. you and your gang are through

There is another lawsuit in 10 months. The one we have all been waiting for to see Bernie burn. Set your calendars for March 2013. Of course his delay tactics may push it back but I know many of us want to attend. Let's caravan to Galvestion. Burn, baby burn.

I did not see the sign up sheet for Paul to resume his chief's position. I would sign it if we can't get Tina to take the job. That is not to say that Kenny has not a good job. He got a good raise and maybe he would prefer asst chief.

giving the job to Paul would only partly make up for all the wrongs that were done to him. I am hoping he will sue all of NS (which includes Laughter, Fuller and Perkins)

Anyone know why " " Perkins did not show to get her silver dollar last night? I hope she never shows her face at a Council mtg or in public again. Crawl back under the rock where Kathy found you.

Anonymous said...

I see, wait until you receive the Notice we are taking your home before saying, "I told you so". That would suit the Pinko Crowd.

If a Lawyer is speaking he is normally lying on someone's behalf. He represents the City, EDC and Plaza 10 06. I haven't seen one thing the City Attorney has done to protect the Citizens.

No. Start the petition to put it to a Vote of the Citizens if the Eminent Domain can be used. That Petition needs to be started as soon as possible to put a stop to this take over. Same Petition as for the EDC Funding.

Anonymous said...

The above post makes no sense. What petition for the EDC Funding?

Bryan said...

Of course it makes no sense......

Anonymous said...

I think the paranoid nut job is talking about the petition that went around to stop the process of borrowing money to pay for town center. The only good thing NS ever did

Anonymous said...

Looks like the attorney addressing Eminent Domain may have gotten Jackie thinking about cleaning up his properties. Maybe not.

He has been long over due and FINALLY the city has had it. I am not in favor of any govt taking any property but I sure the heck am in favor of Fuller losing his since:

*both of his properties are a disgrace to this community and have been for YEARS

*his junkyards will prevent any other home there being sold at market value

*His past lack of actions have proven he intends to do nothing to improve the situation

*he stands in the way of getting other businesses interested in W. Aspen

*his small fleet of horrid boats hardly holds up to this being the yachting capital of Texas.

He will get a fair price which is much better for him than getting a lien he could never possibly pay off. Take the money and run, Jackie, run far far away. You'd fit right in to Bacliff or San Leon. Property values are great now near Corpus or Brownville.

This is the same hystaria that got spouted before the former council got elected. Please show me some evidence that CLS is exercising emminant domain to take the homes on Aspen or Tindal and I will begin to listen to you. The EDC plans for Town Center do not call for the use of any of that land. I would like to see the whole emminant domain wording. It seems that it did call for a vote before it could be applied AND the new code prevents it being applied for economic gain or for outside companies and not the benefit of the city. Instead of spouting please present some facts. The sky is not falling Chicken Little.

Scott said...

Not securing a loan for the Town Center was a good thing? Really? It has sure worked to our advantage, I suppose. Our entrance looks better, don't you think?

(music swells to the chorus.........)
"Ding dong the witch is dead,
witch old witch, the wicked witch.
Ding, dong the wicked witch is dead!"

And Saturday her lady in waiting from the royal guard will be beheaded by the council (refer to CLS website calendar for council special meeting Saturday)

Alas, in the near future her Knight Jackie will be locked up in the brigade again.

and the Queen Mother Catherine will be banished from the kingdom and sent to live with her children.

"Ding dong the witch is dead. Witch old witch, the wicked witch!"

Such a tragic tale.

Each character is the tragic tale above did it to themselves. Each one will claim they are a victim. Sad. It is a tough life when you don't "get it".

This isn't the first time Sgt Denise has gotten fired (or disciplined). Maybe she will have a change in heart and mind. If not, I am guessing it won't be the last time.

Anonymous said...

I am proud of the committee Richard Sowery headed to look into the PD. I hope the residents will hear a summary of their findings.

If only this was the procedure back in June instead of " " Perkins heading up a witch hunt.

I guess there is no point in looking back. Yea, I am still bitter over what happened to Tina and Paul.

Anonymous said...

Yes, it's a tragic tale of "Mom and Pop" taking the young Denise under their wing, training and promoting her to Detective, promoting her as a woman which would probably be rare in most other cities. Being promoted over Bill Young as he is suing our City for sexual discriminationand then she fucks them, the Mom and Pop who have advanced her.

Karma's a bitch as most in that group are soon to see.

Anonymous said...

I hope Tina is there Saturday morning to see justice served in the form of a bitter pill.

Anonymous said...

remember me gokb? I warned you all to watch your backs regarding some of your officers. looks like you heeded my warnings and plan on taking care of business. keep looking, keep digging. you never know what you will turn up

good ol kemah boy

Anonymous said...

Oh yes, let's not forget Wm Young in this tragedy. Did I understand the above post? He has filed another suit claiming sexual discrim.? That can't be correct. I am sure he needs the cash since he is not going to be the next sheriff. (LMAO)

Does anyone know if he has been gainfully employed since being fired here? I don't mean his disasterous security co. That co. has been fired from jobs, too. Ironically, in one case, by neighbors here who had no idea who they hired to do security at an event.

So I guess the only Plan B Sgt Denise had was to work for the sheriff's dept. Hmmm....hope she can come up with a plan C + D.

Perhaps it will be better if she resigns versus being fired. Maybe she can move closer to her kids.

Anonymous said...

is it true she has lost jobs lost her husband lost her kids befriended the losers associated with NS and now might lose this job? if so that is the true definition af a loser. oh well she always has bill young to comfort her

Anonymous said...

No, there is no new lawsuit. when he was fired years ago he sued the city and one of his many claims In his lawsuit was that he had been sexually discriminated against by the PD in that women were promoted over men.

Anonymous said...

gokb,

you may not want to put it on this blog but plz send a letter to the mayor or city admin as far as what you know.Help us here.

I think there are wide-spread problems.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for clairfying Wm Young is not continuing to file suits here. Too bad he spent all of the settlement we gave him on sheriff signs. Does anyone know if he has a job?

Anonymous said...

I hope that report of Richard Sowry includes the visit from TABC and other criminal acts committed by our city leaders. There were criminal acts committed and no action was taken against Chief Cook, the Mayor, Councilman Burns, Alan and . I

t will be interesting to see what action they take against Denise when so many criminal infractions go unaddressed by the City Council.

I think a good lawsuit and a great Discovery will uncover so much dirt that this City has tried to bury, that there won't be enough tourniquets to stop the bleeding. They should leave well enough alone. But stupid does as stupid wants. Right Alan?

Anonymous said...

Right Larry

Anonymous said...

Criminal acts by the city? I don't think so. If we have invested over 100k in investigations/audits and there were no significant findings I would conclude there are no criminal charges to be found. Sorry NS. You lose. I am sure this will be your mantra until you die; CLS city officials are corrupt.

If donations for beer(to raise funds for the Civic Club) is criminal then you suck. I better not see any NS folks donating beer $ at any club events.

Anonymous said...

I doubt any "Pinko" will fall under having their property condemned since we are a hard-working bunch that takes pride in their homes. Pinkos tend to respond if they get an ordinance violation.

Notthesheriff said...

Guess since you lost the election, you have plenty of time to post now, huh, gokb??

Anonymous said...

Many churches ask for donations at their events for beer or wine. I guess NS should put those criminals of their watch list too.

I had hoped NS would start enjoying their retirement and drop all their crap.I am beginning to think they are enjoying what they are doing. I guess on their planet they are living the good life trying to make others miserable. Sure would like to know what made them so mean. Anyone know the scoop on their childhoods? Amazing they all found each other to share their meaness with.

Thank you God for helping me deal with past pain in a healthy way.

Anonymous said...

A previous poster said, "I think a good lawsuit and a great Discovery will uncover so much dirt that this City has tried to bury..."

So I am thinking a NS person is trying to discourage the lawsuits coming their way. Ain't going to happen. Lawyer up ALL of you. You might try hiding some of your assests while you can. Give the kids their inheritance now. Maybe an attorney will give you a group discount. There are some pretty hungry attorneys out there.Maybe you could use Wm Young's guy. In the end of the long series of lawsuits the attorney will have the only gains on your side of the fence.

Anonymous said...

Would the previous poster plz explain what they meant by, " But stupid does as stupid wants. Right Alan?"

Most of us think Allan taking Barbarrah to court is a fine idea. It is only fair that she pays what it will cost him to get his arrest off his record. She should write him a check tomorrow and save the attorney's fees. Wasn't it delightful neither of the Nichols were at the CC mtg.? Lots of good things are surfacing now.

Wasn't cathy the mayor when the whole eminent domain came up in the first place?

Anonymous said...

Does jackie recall Kathy was the mayor when he started getting ordinance violations. It was her directive.

Anonymous said...

Let's say that indeed
eminent domain involved the trashed properties on Tindel and Aspen. (Remember, we do not know that for sure.)Let's say the residents got to vote on it. My guess is that Junkyard Jackie would be going down.

does he not GET IT? He is hurting others by keeping his place trashed. The residents would for sure vote him off the island!

What is sad is that he brought all this on hinself and he will never see it.

Yepper, I say let the community vote on it.

Scott said...

There is no doubt he would go down. The recent election tells you that. It is still amazing to me that he even got the 60 votes he did. Well, 59 actually since I am sure he voted for himself.

If you are one of the 59 nut jobs out there who voted for that piece of trash - please enlighten us. Did you really think Jackie deserved another 2 years? Honestly? Or were you just trying to make a statement of some kind? Kind of a waste of time, don't you think?
