IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Hey Gang!

Time for another Parrothead Friday Night with Senor Beans at Noah's, Ark March 9th (this Friday) 7 ~ 10PM. It's Spring in Texas and a great time to hang out by the Bay.

I'm looking forward to a fun night with some new tunes to share with you and an extra mic in case any gets enough courage up (you know what I mean) to climb up on stage and sing one, beat a drum, strum a uke......whatever!

From the Gulf Freeway take FM646 East to the water (Baycliff), take a left and it's one block down, on your left.

I would like to take a moment to say thanks to all the supporters of live music in our area. It is stacking up to be a great year and I really appreciate every one who comes out to see me and all the other PH Friday Night acts

This from neighbor Jim Mago

If you have not seen or heard this,

Only in CLS can one person do so much damage.

Get the voters back out to CC tomorrow. I suppose one way to clear up the cash flow shortfall created by Tammy, Ewell, and Arlene’s witchhunt legal bills MIGHT be to sell off the keystone property to the Town Center to Skipper? From all the whining down there I thought he was broke due to the Farmers Market negative impact on his Saturday business. Guess not.

I expect that 3 of 5 directors of Plaza Ten ( Burns, Sowrey, Ponton) will have the long term best interest of the citizens in mind if this ever comes to a vote. The others (Fuller, Bernie McIntyre) are a significant cause of the financial problem and have been looking for a way to cripple the Town Center since it was approved BY THE VOTERS OF THIS CITY 2 years ago.

Finally, all this could have been avoided if ONE more vote had been cast for Allan back in 2010. This year is absolutely critical.

Sounds like we need to be at the City Council meeting tomorrow night. Think they’ll listen? What do you think?

In case you haven’t looked we now have 8 folks running for 3 seats.

Did I understand it correctly? Fuller and McIntired are on the Town Center Board? How the heck did that happen? Someone tell me I am mistaken.

If there is one huge lesson for me the past 8 months, I need to be involved and make the time for CC mtgs. and EDC mtgs. I will be there Tues. night.

Fuller will get the least votes. Bryan and Richard will get the most. That's my guess. NS is going down.

Damage control!!!! NO NO NO Sale!!! In this market we would NOT make our money back AND risk the things that made our decision to buy in the first place. What do we want in the entry to our island. Town center - beautiful!! Porn shop - Garage - CVS not so much. People get involved in this. You cant change it once it is done. They have only a short time and are trying to do as much damage as they can. Preserve Camalot and keep our property values up. REALLY!!!!! Sell the property for at least half what we bought it for. Where is the reason!! Cant wait for the elections. Kathy S T O P P L E A S E

This whole BS was to allow the Mcs to run city council. Hell they wanted Bernie to be city manager. It is a Power Play, every time you make a move your motives become clearer.

Wasn't there some controversy about Kathy buying up condemed properties on the island when she was mayor. Like she helped condemed and then bought them. I would like to hear more about that. Who are they to complain about using credit cards to their advantage? I would like to hear some more about that. Maybe we need an investigation.

If you've been paying attention you will surely have noticed that all investigations went only as far back as your Mayor Johnsons term. None prior to that. Coincidence? I'm sure.

I know McI own several rental properties here. Can anyone fine out which ones and when they were purchased?

As long as Arleen is on Council the attorney needs to be present. What she proposes is ilegal. Good God, she is costing CLS so much.I would not be surprised if they try to sell the properties along 2094. We would lose the whole Town Center concept if that was the case. Only four more meetings with their twisted ways.

Allen Cruthirds says, Most of the past two years nonsense can be undone if the right people are voted into office in May. The new City Council can then rescind, amend, or revoke a lot of harm that has been done. - Although the harm to some personal reputations and feelings will take a long time to heal- So it is very important for clear thinking people to vote for those candidates that will accomplish this goal. In fact that should be a top agenda item for the next council to be installed in June, and the candidates should be asked about their views on this when they come around asking for your vote.

Aollen C - in other words NS's daze are over. I feel so much better.

We have to get out the voters and make sure they know the right candidates. Then we can breathe easier.

C I T Y C O U N C I L tonight. Be there. Arlene is going to provide the entertainment of the evening by proposing the residents NOT speak if the city attorney is present. WTF? Any bets on her justification? I don't have a clue.

I emailed her about this. Told her I had a serious problem with this, and this is her response:

"Foremost, the city is operating in the red.  My feeble attempts at saving money wii only be a Corp in the proverbial bucket."

She encouraged me to come to council as that will answer all of my questions. I'll be there!

Amanda, is that a quote? It doesn't make sense. What is a corp?

Amanda B said...

Yes. I'm guessing it was supposed to be "drop in the proverbial bucket."

the City was not in the red not so long ago. Maybe the investigaion to no where had a huge impact. Cutting the attorney's hours by a month is not going to have any input to speak of.
