IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Happy Birthday Big Al

Albert Einstein that is. OK Here’s what I know. I talked to a young lady in the PR office at JSC this morning. She had no news on the move of Explorer to JSC or anywhere. She then transferred me to the Public Affairs office where I left a voice mail and then sent email to the contact. As soon as I get anything at all I will post it here.
Met some not so new neighbors at sunset last night. Katy and Ray and their kids live on Oak. Welcome y’all!
Before I forget I want to give a shout out to Danny Otto for not only his first entry in to the annual Soup Cook Off but for taking first place to boot! Great job Otto! All that and he can cook...
REMINDER!........GARAGE SALE THIS WEEKEND
131 CLEAR LAKE ROAD
FRIDAY 3 TO 6
SATURDAY 8 TO 2
I guess this question should be directed at City Council but has anyone heard anything about a City Birthday Party? Any suggestions? Ronnie suggested maybe this would be a job for a professional event planner. I tend to agree. Anybody out there a professional event planner? I’ll ask at the meeting next week. The Team over at Watergate wants to join in too.
Looks like it’s going to be quite a do at the Meet & Greet. Mark your calendars. The place to be is Jarboe Park on March 31st. We’ll have adult beverages, Coonies’ mudbugs and a couple of candidates asking for your vote, Come on out and see if they measure up. We welcome all legal, registered voters and citizens of Clear Lake Shores. Yes that includes our neighbors at Watergate, Legend Point and Port O Fino. That’s why we’re the Yachting Capitol of Texas. Yes, I will have a donation jar if you’d like to help offset the cost. Thanks for asking. See you there!
59 days to go…

Sounds like your AFRAID of the Media and anyone who would ask your Politicians something besides what you are drinking? Nice to have a Politician or two in your pocket? You and the Obama Election Committee have so much in common.

Absolutely, positively shocked at the actions of Clear Lake Shores city council. Tami Perkins et al – karma is a bitch!!!

Does this sound like somebody who has the ability, or the maturity to represent anyone? Her Twitter account reads like a vulgar, insecure, carpetbagger who wants to be a Cheerleading at any game. If there is a beer and a game on the TV, she will be a no show at the CC Meetings, or constantly checking her cell phone Game Updates while sipping from her sippy cup. This may look great on her Resume, but we don't need the likes of this. Expect more on the 31st, some will be asking you questions about your Post and more.

There you have it. Proof positive there are aliens among us. anon at 601 is clearly not from this planet. Afraid of the media? where did that come from? The Obama Election Committee? Yes, a working knowledge of our language just a non functioning grasp of overall conversations. We mean you no harm. Someone call SETI.....

We are behind you, Amanda. 95% of CLS will vote for you! Let the above idiot roll off your shoulders.

Anonymous said...

95% in your wettest dream of your head soaking in
Allan's Party Keg on the 31st.

Hey, Vern,Paul and Kenny, are you going to tell the Police to stay away from Jarboe Bayou Park while you violate CLS open container law not to include selling, oops, excuse me accepting donations for: "One of our neighbors has volunteered to buy a keg of adult beverages and I’m gonna buy the first sack of mudbugs. "

I bet we will see this again when somebody else decides to have a kegger and your aren't invited and the Police do show up. What is good for the gander is good for the goose.

We need to ask the CC at the next Meeting if this is proper. I will contact Karen and have her put it on the Agenda. "Kegger in Jarboe Bayou Park????" I printed out the Blog where Allan wrote this up.

There goes birthday party's and Jammin'on Jarboe. And fun. Buy life you sad pathetic meat sock. It's a park and some of your neighbors are going to get together and have fun. Notice I didn't say friends and neighbors. Go have a vinegar martini and cheer up. Life is too short to be that miserable.

This is hilarious. You get outraged and indignant because someone is holding you to the same standard as the rest of the City. Get Paul and Karen to charge the Keg on the City Credit Card with the rest of their fun times. Hell, your bunch doesn't care and at least part of the residence will get part of the money back in drinking. That's better than what the City is seeing now in reimbursements.

ab said...

The hilarity is your post. I am neither outraged or indignant. i am befuddled. How do you function in your world? I am to be held to the same standard as a city? What the hell are you babbling about? I have no bunch. I am sociable to almost all of my neighbors. Although, I must admit I do openly at laugh at people like you. See you at the meet and greet? The first beer is on you. Bring cash.

Anonymous said...

I forget. The law doesn't apply to Paul and Vern's backers so you wouldn't know about the open container law or the violation of a couple of more laws. This will be a good test for the CC.

Wondered how long it would take until someone starting trashing candidates. Looks like it has started and Amanda is the first victim. Here's an idea rather than trashing a candidate you abviously don't like tell us something positive about the candidate you endorse.
Oh and by the way when you reserve the pavilion through the city the open container law does not apply. You are required to have a police officer there but alcohol is allowed. If you were better informed about your city you would know this.

Crystal Rose said...

I have just checked the ordinances and cannot see anywhere what Allan is suggesting is contravening them. No-one has mentioned selling alcohol? Would you like to post the actual number of the code so that we can see what the event would be in breach of? Please show us where to look?

The approximate time to obtain a permit is 45-60 days. This time frame can vary dependent on the type of license applied for and the certification required by the local governing authorities in the city and county of the proposed location. It can take longer than 60 days, so it is important begin the application process as early as possible.

For assistance with the licensing process, please contact your local TABC office. They can walk you through the process, provide you with the appropriate forms, and answer any questions you might have. For contact information, visit the map on our website.

Then there is the question of the school? How far is alcohol suppose to be from it?

Hilarious how Kenny was singled out to take Paul and Tina out of the pictue, he figured out he was used, and now NS thinks Kenney is the enemy, lumping him in there with Paul and Vern. Laughing my ass off. Hang in there Kenny. Glad you saw the light. You will be stronger at the end of the day for it. Its all about life lessons.

Anonymous said...

Well, I would bet $100 that the person bitching about drinking in the park is NOT BahBraW and John Nichols family...The person bitching about drinking and posting about Amanda is probably some hair-lipped freak with a restraining order.

Anonymous said...

Kenny isn't lumped anywhere. Just between a rock and a hard place as usual. Still taking orders from Paul, at least for now. Kenny is a Cop who needs to follow the letter of the law and tell everyone to go to hell.

As far as trashing a candidate, I think this Blog has a head jump on that, but it seems like Amanda did Post those words on Twitter, just like the twit she appears to be. More than one candidate has had their candidacy sunk by their actions or words. She is in good company with Obama and even Rush.

A hairlip would be a prolific writer with perfect grammar and diction. Still doesn't mean the hairlip has any common sense.

Kenny has already figured out that NS had someone else in mind for Chief beside him and Paul, so dont blow smoke up Kenny's ass any longer that NS wants him for Chief.

And talking about freaks....anybody notice that Bernie is in the middle of his law suit and STILL has his generator sitting out in the open next to Lynda's fence and bedroom? You just can't get a worse neighbor than that. Does he really think a jury is going to understand why his generator is outside and next to her fence even today? Every generator I ever saw was under the house or in the garage for when the electricity goes off. Can someone explain this? Maybe I am stupid and just dont get it.

Anonymous said...

Kenny is a man with a decision to make. The position of Chief in any community is one of politics or law. Seldom are you allowed to be both, Politician or Cop. Being Top Cop of any department is normally more important to one's self-respect than being a Politician. Kenny can choose self-respect or to cow-toe to a Boss with an agenda that could take him down with him. I hope Kenny decides to be Top Cop and tell all of us to go to hell and he will stick to the Law.

That generator is no louder than the Heat Pump I had sitting next to my fence and the kids bedroom. Blue board and a 10 foot section of a second fence shut down most of the noise. Even Palin had to put up a higher fence. Deal with it and move on or you may end up paying his legal fees.

Do you really want someone telling you how to arrange your place to suit them? We need to go fishing while the sun is up and there is enough water to launch our boats. (White Bass are running on Livingston)
