Officer Jansen has a white iPod in a purple case up at the police station. It’s looking for its owner. It is password protected so if you know of someone who has lost an iPod there ya have it. Thanks Officer Denise.
So, who put the “Red Tag” on the future bus stop? If you haven’t had a chance to stop and read it. It’s cute …

NO PLAN – NOT
CITIZENS OF CLS!”
We would like all islanders to know we will be having a voter’s registration drive on Saturday, March 3rd at the old Sandbar location from 10:00 – 3:00. We will be serving FREE hotdogs and soft drinks. Also, if you’ve noticed the black CLS bumper stickers on some of the island’s golf carts, we have ordered more, and will be made available FREE to those of you who register to vote, or to those who drop by and show a current voters ID card. If you’re a newbie, or just haven’t gotten around to registering, we would love to see you. If you’re pressed for time, we’ll make it REAL easy. You won’t even need to get out of your car. 2 minutes of your time, fill out a short form, and easy as that, and you’ll be a registered voter. We will take care of the rest. If jury duty has kept you from registering, I believe Galveston County uses voter’s registration OR drivers license for their jury pool.
Qualifications to Register:
You must register to vote in the county in which you reside.
You must be a citizen of the United States of America.
You must not be finally convicted of a felony, or if you are a felon, you must have completed all of your punishment, including any term of incarceration, parole, supervision, period of probation, or you must have received a pardon.
This is the important one! You must be at least 17 years and 10 months old to register, and you must be 18 years of age by Election Day. (Both of my sons will be eligible to vote in the May election)
Your voter registration will become effective 30 days after it is received or on your 18th birthday, whichever is later. Your registration must be effective on or before an election day in order to vote in that election. When you fill out a form, we will mail it for you. It can’t get easier than that.
Think of the number of people in the world that would give their right arm to have the privilege to vote. It is our right to vote, and the upcoming election in May makes it most important. If you can’t make it on the 3rd, our fine office staff at City Hall has plenty of registration forms on hand. So come on out, we will be their rain or shine. We hope to see you there.
This note from AB. Not to worry if your voter registration card has expired.”.. All previously-issued voter registration certificates expired on December 31, 2011, but only the cards expired, voter registrations remain valid. Voters, who are currently registered..”
