Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

Carlo pointed out that the city does not have a approved 2012 budget because of the short sightedness of council. This shows the incompetence of these useless idiots.

Wasn't it Tammy that blasted J. Bragg for the lack of a budget? She can't take responsiblity for her own crap. Since the first CC mtg. in June Council has been off the tracks. No one could have imagined what a train wreck it would become once Arleen got a vote. My hope is they attempt to get back on course tonight. There is always hope.

Dave can you bring your camera tonight? We can post the video on the blog on the city web site or on you tube. Then folks that can't attend can keep up. If you can't does anyone else have a video camera to bring? I think tonight is going to be eventful.

Chili trivia for the day: Which local Islander won the very first prize to be awarded at one of the cookoffs? Where was the event at that time and what was the prize? 10 points for each correct answer and 5 bonus points if you get all three

Speaking of petitions:

About 50 of us signed a petition asking the City to enforce rubbish ordinance and registration of boats against Jackie Fuller (he appears to have a MARINA with numerous unregistered boats in front of his house and boat trailors on his Aspen lot). The building inspector gave him 6 weeks, until the end of January, to comply. There are 2 weeks left and I can't tell that he has done anything. Can anyone update us here?

Also, a friend of mine from another city attended a Council of Governments meeting in League City and they wanted to know who that person was with his feet on the wall. Someone told him it was the City of Clear Lake Shores councilman. How embarrassing for our City.

Speaking of videos: I have a professionally made video of the long line of people speaking at council meeting and asking for Tami's resignation. Unfortunately he did not capture her laughing and smiling through the entire process. But anybody who wants a copy is welcome to it.

Roselyn, Thanks for the offer. I think you should add a soundtrack to the video and make it a Pink Party recruiting tool.

How about -Don't Stop Believing- by Journey?

Go Pink!
Go Bi-partisan!

Roselyn - I was sick to my stomach the night he took on this role knowing he would not respresent us well. At least he probably drove his borrowed Mercedes there. He is in over his head thinking he is a powerful guy when in fact he is a disabled truck driver.

I hope he knows his crap on Tindel(and I mean it literally) will not be tolerated. Wasn't his noncompliance with the rubbish ordinance what had him arrested at least once before? Even white trash would have learned from that tough lesson.

Roselyn, Post it on you tube and we can all get at it. I have heard the same story about Jackie from three folks. Two of the were there. Apparantly they were at South Shore at a very nice event and Jackie was kicked back in his chair with his feet up on a dividing wall. If that is true...What a hick he must be but he does fit in well with another member of our council. Please God, let this nightmare end!

His feet were on the wall? His white socks probably drew more attention to his lack of manners. 106 days to go then BYE BYE Jackie.

Brillant idea, Craig, post it on U Tube. Please!

You bet tonight will be eventful and it needs to be recorded. I wish I would have thought of this. So many times I think back on the CC when there was barely standing room. IT was the night everyone was there to SUPPORT Paul. Even Kemah's Mayor spoke in his defense. I would give anything to have had a recording of that night.

Perhaps an unscheduled visitor tonight could provide Jackie a brief lesson on manners. A quick demo on how a professional would sit versus trailor trash. It might go a long way even though there are only 107 days left for his sorry ass.

DaveC. said...

I will try to get the memory erased so we can use it.

Since I posted this morning about the petition 50 of us filed with the City regarding Jackie's clean-up, a friend in Kemah has called me and said Jackie was recently 'politicking' in Kemah and said "we are going to fire Jack Fryday and we aren't finished with Paul Shelley either."

Wont it be interesting to see if Jackie was successful in getting Paul fired because Paul had him ticketed and arrested and now he is going to do the same to Jack Fryday? Kenny, if I were you I would send a rookie cop to write the ticket so he doesn't turn on you. Just say'n.

Effective January 1, 2006, elected and appointed public officials are required by a state law to receive training in Texas open government laws. The Office of the Attorney General offers free video training courses, which were developed in compliance with a mandate from the 79th Texas Legislature that the Attorney General establish the formal training necessary to ensure that all elected and appointed government officials have a good command of both open records and open meetings laws.

This Web site contains links and information designed to assist public officials and public information coordinators in complying with the open government training requirement and Texas open government laws

Q: Why are public officials required to attend open government training?

A: The Texas Open Meetings Act and the Public Information Act (Govt. Code Chapters 551 and 552) apply to nearly every governmental body in Texas, yet there has not been a consistent way for public officials to receive training on how to comply with these laws. This is significant because a failure to comply with either the Open Meetings Act or Public Information Act may result in civil and criminal penalties for public officials, and can also lead to a general breakdown of confidence in our governing bodies.

The Office of the Attorney General has found that in most cases where a governmental body violates the open government laws, it is the result of public officials simply not knowing what the law requires. Inconsistent and inaccurate legal advice regarding these laws has sometimes added to the confusion.

Attorney General Greg Abbott called on the 79th Texas Legislature to enact legislation to require public officials to obtain open government training in an effort to promote openness and increase compliance with our "Sunshine laws." The Legislature responded by passing Senate Bill 286, which requires public officials to receive training in the requirements of the Open Meetings Act and Public Information Act beginning January 1, 2006

So can you please tell us who is responsible for enforcing these violations of open meetings laws? I understand our Mayor has asked for help a couple of times now.

Since the act has been violated numerous times by the 3 blind mice when do they receive civil and criminal penalties?

Is jackie aware former mayor kathy mc sent paul to tindel years ago. His directives were to clean it up.

Anonymous said...

Jackie may not be thru with Paul but the residents are not thru with jackie. Even when he is out of office there will be more petitions until his place looks presentable along with the rest of Tindel.
If the mtg tonight is recorded plz zoom in on his white socks while he is wrapping his feet behind the chair legs.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The results are in regarding an attempt to shut down Burl and Raynels Birthday Bash and Chili Cook Off. A petition was circulated for signatures complaining that the music goes too late and towels and beer cans are left behind that the Wards do not pick up. Damn those evil Wards.

The petition was signed by

Mary Nash
Steve Bowden
Pam House
Jean (Sunshine) Garst
Larry Toenjes
Dava McMillian
Gray McMillian

First I will address the irony. Mary, Pam and Steve have always come to the party. They have always looked forward to it and always started asking about it weeks in advance and even shared their power for the pots. They also have always gone out of their way to thank us for the invitation and commented on how good the band is. The pictures I have of them at several past cook offs seems like they are having a great time. Now suddenly there is a problem. Really? The party has been the same for 26 years. Wait untill you see the pictures of Tami and the rest of them at past parties. They Definately are not having a problem with the party in these photos and videos. Its strange Tamis signature is missing. Sunshine and Larry have never attended but I have never seen them attend any event or throw a party in the 25 years I have known them with the exception of Thanksgiving Dinner. I don't think they like fun very much. Dava and Gray? If anyone can figure them out let me know.

Now I will address the complaint.

Towels and beer cans everywhere:

Towels????

They have now insulted all of you. Every year everybody has picked up after themselves leaving very little for us to do. Many of our close friends from across town stay late and are vey good about helping fine tune the cleanup before they leave. The next morning Raynel and I go out and get anything we missed in the dark the night before. As I have said many times these folks will say anything it takes to get their way, will flat out make up lies and do not let dumb little facts get in their way. This is another example.

Towels left laying around?

OK fine. Larry, Allan, Rob every year I tell you to pick up your towels that are apparantly invisible to us. Now your refusal to do so has gotten us in trouble. This year you three are not allowed to bring your boxes of towels. You have been too irresponsible with them in the past according to these fine neighbors of mine.

The music goes too late???????

The band has never gone past five thirty. Anyone who has attended any year can attest to that. Now I havn't checked but Lawrence Welk reruns or Matlock reruns or Steves rerun on the History Channel might start at Five but surely they can DVR those and watch them after 5:30

The bottom line is other than the dozens of towels that AB, RS and LL allegedly leave there is no mess and if 5:30 is too late for the band then you are old and pathetic or just plain angry and mean spirited.

I didn't mean to ramble on but everyone need to see how rediculous, hypocritical, mean and pathetic these folks are.

Anyway,

See you tonight at CC.

lets start a counter petition to have the signers voted off the island! I bet we can get more than 8 signatures...

Dear Tami,

how is that improved morale thing working for ya?

You, my dear, are a P A W N.

HA!

It was good to see Arline had her own opinion and voted accordingly tonight! At least it got things moving...........

How about the residents start writing Attorney General Greg Abbott to see if he can assist us in getting criminal and civil charges filed on the 3 stooges?

Craig, Your response to the petition was hilarious. Thanks for my laugh of the evening.

I hear Jackie bashes CLS to anyone that will listen to him at Skippers. I wonder if the owners know his boat was the one visible once the fence came down.

In our small community, with our friends and associates off the island, it is no wonder little movement can go unnoticed. Thanks to Allan and the blog news travels close to real time!
