IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

It's National Tequila Day!

Well now. You’ve no doubt heard our fair city is looking for a new police chief. I’m sure Paul is happy to have his workload reduced. I guess the question for Council now is where the hell is the 100k for a new salary coming from? What are you going to cut out? Was this new expenditure in the budget? I’m betting not. That’s right, this council just spent money they don’t have. Let’s recap. An unemployed truck driver, a PTA mom, and the junior council member just voted to spend your money on a wild hair. You can’t make this stuff up. I personally can’t wait to see what’s next. I swear all that’s missing are the dancing bears…….
Anybody else out there keep up with the Galveston County Daily News? “The oldest news paper in Texas?” It has been reporting our goings on on a regular basis and I insert a link when I can. I find the comments section most interesting.  Some knucklehead named smontgomery is all cranky and posts what I’m sure he/she feels is pertinent. He-she-it seems to be in a position of incredible insight. I wonder if this is the same Montgomery listed on our agenda last week? The same Montgomery who filed a complaint with the EEOC against our city.  Are you Councilman Perkins Deepthroat? Are you smart enough to know what I’m saying? All this talk about shining lights and all our poor downtrodden officers? WTF? Really? And you stand behind Councilman Perkins 100%? Behind what? Did you open the backdoor for the Councilmans escape Saturday? Come on Montgomery, show us your onions/ovaries and tell us all about how you were wronged. Are you the Montgomery we wouldn’t hire? The one Tina passed on? Tina asked her if finding a babysitter was going to be a problem and I guess that is against the law. Did somebody get their feelings hurt? Waaahhh. Time to put on your big girl panties and MANUP.  Seems hardly worth the effort of an investigation. Hell Tami all you had to do was ask the right people. Make sure your investigators read the blog it might save us some money in hourly fees. Come on Montgomery, I’ll keep the anonymous button on just for you.

Being ever the optimist I keep telling myself that our council honestly believes they are doing the right thing. Even when they do stupid crap like pissing off so many of their neighbors. I have to also believe we choose poorly in our last election and things need to change before one of them decides to put in a runway. I will be taking the petition for recall door to door Monday. It’s time to take the gun away from the baby. Or at least unload the damn thing.

I saw 2 different golf carts riding down Pine last night with children driving and no adults with them. Wasn't that what Chief Shelly had sent Tami a warning about.....letting her under age daughter drive the golf cart?

Tami has a son. What is your point. Tamis kid broke the law and now someone elses kid is doing it too. Last night the Chief couldn't do anything about it if he wanted to. Thanks to these idiots he isn't a cop here anymore. When he was chief I think he gave someone a ticket for speeding but I have seen others speed that didn't get tickets. Again what is your point

Alan,

You point out Tami is a PTA Mom. She was a complete failure at that job also. I had to suffer through working with her at Stewart. No one liked her there either. I feel bad for Wade and her Husband but I hope they pack their bags and hit the road.

Sorry Anonymous....got the gender of her child wrong. My point is that by allowing an under age child to drive a golf cart it is breaking the law. So the parent is ultimately at fault for allowing it.

Still don't get your point. Tamis kid broke the law and tami got a warning. Now some other kids did it too. ???????? We have always enjoyed a live and let live enviorement for the most part. That is part of what made it great. Now too many pepole are getting pissy and bitchy about every little tiny violation. We will soon be just another Seabrook or League City at this rate. It is so sad to see.

Keep in mind that this is the same group that opposed spending money on the Town Center, but they now added another salary to our budget. So, we still have a disgraceful pile of mud up front, but at least we have a new Police Chief!!!!! Way to go, morons. And, for all of you sheep that voted blindly for the McGuthrie ticket: you are pathetic and mindless. Find some conviction - QUICK!!!

Just to let you know I am totally behind the Chief and totally against those that are doing this. There is no "pissy". Just don't want some to screw it up for the rest of us. Take care Anonymous and I hope we both get our way next time around. You don't seem to understand that we are on the same side.

All parents of kids driving golf carts need a ticket. I think they get a warning. Duh! It is only a matter of time until one of them is in a accident.

It is ashame that Paul had to step down. What is the benefit of this attack to the city? Elected officials should have the best interest of the city and their constituents as their primary purpose. Obviously this isn't true in our situation. There is another motivation. I wish those behind this would have the courage to say what really is behind this attack. It is clearly personal from my perspective. It's not broke so why mess with it. Unfortunately the few who sturred this up are becoming the black sheep of the community and will carry this until they decide it isn't worth staying here.

I heard that Stewart Elem. and the PTA still shutters at the mention of her name. She must have really screwed much up. How can anyone screw up a PTA? Does anyone know if she has ever held a job anywhere? What type of position was it? Did she graduate from high school?

Anonymous said...

Yes she blew it on the PTA. It was a nighmare working with her on PTA. She worked at the plants. Don't know what she did other than walk around in blue coveralls. Graduate? Who knows but I doubt she was an honor student.

Anonymous said...

honor student? hardly. ''Don't look good, don't smell good''.

Ha... Must not be too difficult to qualify for PTA prez.

Being ugly, immature and mean accomplishes nothing. It takes away from what you are trying to do. Be adults.

To the anon just above this...are you addressing the 3 council members or 96% of the residents? Can't tell. I certainly understand the residents trying to blow off some steam on this site. If they don't have a place to blow off steam...well, who knows what might happen.

I agree with Mike. Being ugly, immature and mean did accomplish something it got rid of two fantastic officers and will cost the Island thousands and thousands of dollars. If citizens want to point out the truth about these morons and sometimes that truth hurts they have every right to do so. I do not feel bad for the pepole responsible fo this mess. They are getting exactly wat they deserve. If you don't like it DON'T READ THE BLOG and go drink watermelon soup over at Bernies instead. Its that simple. To the rest of you, bring it on. You have the right to say whatever you feel. Let these bleeding hearts whine and drink soup.

Where can I get a pink tshirt with a watermelon on it?

I don't know but you need to take orders, have them made and we can all wear them to Council meetings and Tamis civil trials

Anonymous said...

Stencil them. Perhaps we can sell them as part of the fundraisor for the attorney's fees to get her off of council.

Thank gosh we saved all that money from building the town center - apparantly those who raised cain about spending that money already had it earmarked elsewhere. Like attorney and investigative fees. Have the investigators been interviewing a new Chief yet - who knows maybe they think this is their job too.
