IslandDrumz

Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

I am no longer mad and I dont hate anyone, well maybe one person but she is not on council. I dont care about the cussing either, when backed into a corner and threatened I think even a priest might cuss

...Anybody notice that in closed session Tuesday there was a "Montgomery" issue on agenda, then after the meeting "Montgomery" posts a comment on the Galveston Daily News site, telling other CL Shores cops who come to work with a belly ache, I repeat, belly ache, to come join their cause (i.e. get in the cash cow line.) Cruising in a city with no crime gives you a belly ache? Try being a realtor in this neighborhood if you want a belly ache, and Montgomery probably made more money than I did last year. Anyway, this comment posted by Montgomery, or his representative, reminded me of the attorney Jim Adler "The Hammer" TV ads telling anybody who has been injured in a car wreck to call them. Ambulance chasers.

I have learned that there is a fund for cities which "settles" with these ex cops, like an insurance company, to avoid court costs and legal fees. This is the type of fund that paid off Bill Youngs case against us. Well, when Tami and Jacki conferred with them doing their own "investigation" any good attorney would see a crack in the door (called weakness of the council group) and throw that door wide open. There was a second (or third) male with LaValle at council Tuesday night. I guess he is waiting his turn in line. He didnt look mad, he just looked like a very young man starting his adult life. A good attorney would probably tell this line of folks they are advertising to get through testimonials like Montgomery to not worry, you wont have to go to court, so dont stress, CLS has an insurance fund that will pay to settle.

This is what has happened in my opinion. NOW I understand why it is against the law for council people to confer outside of council and to conduct their own investigation. It shows weakness as a group and allows this kind of situation to occur. Instead of continuing with the petition to get her to step aside I suggest we go ahead and consult the DA as to how to proceed with criminal charges. She has admitted her guilt to the newspaper of interviewing ex cops and the three of them being together to be sure an agenda item was placed on the agenda. Now that I am not mad I see the harm that has been done to our city by her/them (could be from one to 5 people) forming a "secondary council" of the 3 of them. The patient is dying and we need to get to the emergency room.

P.S. Through the Open Records Act request I have a copy of the lawsuit Young filed and in my opinion it is a bunch of "whining". I understand the City attorneys have delivered the balance of the stuff I requested and I should get it today or Monday.

Can anyone explain to me what Tami and Jackie think they have to gain by continuing this? I have been in their shoes before, thinking I was doing the right thing, and I can tell you their lives will be changed forever by this. In my case I was at the hospital a month later and crying in the waiting room. A stranger, a young black woman, came over and consoled me. She gave me a tattered card out of her wallet that said "Let Go and Let God" which I still carry 20 years later. Take care that the stress doesnt create medical problems for you. Its not worth it. You see now that we are not going to give up our Police Chief so Let it go and let God take care of it.

Now, on a lighter side.....is there going to be damned loud music in the park Saturday night? (I couldn't help myself, dont be mad Vern.)

Allen Cruthirds says: I still don't know - exactly or even generally - what the investigation is about, but it looks like the city is getting ready to spend a lot of money on it, and possibly a significant amount more defending it in the future. For those pushing the investigation you better know what you are doing, because WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND!

Additionally, the vast majority of the people on this island are very concerned about the negative direction in which we are headed.

Allen C. I so agree. My husband and I have lived here for almost 3 years and we love CLS. I hope some people are not taking for granted the fact that we do live in a wonderful, small slice of paradise!
The location, activities, sunset, people and the golf cart community aspect are things that some people never have. I am thankful we found Clear Lake Shores! This negative attitude on the part of some people needs to stop and let's all just appreciate what we have. Move somewhere else to have your political games and leave this slice of paradise alone. Thank you!

I have wondered if North Shore's real motivating is getting Paul out so Bernie could be appointed as City Admin and Wm Young could be the Chief. There is a real nightmare. THAT WON'T HAPPEN! And Perkins just happens to be their current puppet.

I like how the creative,problem-solving residents are taking different avenues to assist in whatever ways they can. Dave got the signs going. Allan provided information via the blog which allows us to share and vent.Paul's petition was very effective. I love what I hear is happening with Team Tindel. I admire Rob S. for leading Team Perkins Petition. We need to keep coming up with ways to help. Think of your neighbors and friends that may not be as involved. Perhaps you could encourage them to sign the Perkins petition. I believe this route would be much faster than a lawsuit, but that certainly does not mean a lawsuit is not coming down the pike. Rob has the details.

I will be wearing pink until Tami gets the message. Its my new party color.

Roselyn - I hope you own a lot of pink since Tami is NOT ever going to get it. Did you see her try to sneak out the back door after the last exe session? She can't look us in the eye. That tells me so much. Now I hear she is acting like a victim wanting protection. Protection from what? She got the pot stirring and now that it is boiling she's afraid of getting burnt. I wish I would see her own up to her crap and start acting like a council person. Talk to the people. Talk to the mayor. Talk to the City Admin. I hope she can talk to the new chief. What will be her excuse of not being able to talk to him or her? If she was acting out of conviction of the truth she should be able to say "bring it on" as any leader would with their head held high.
