Welcome to our little slice of paradise! Clear Lake Shores is probably one of the best kept secrets in the entire Bay Area. Yes we are an island. We are surrounded by Clear Lake, Jarbo Bayou and the Lazy Bend canals. Plug this in to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean 29.32' by 95.01' We are about half way between Galveston Island and the city of Houston and located in north Galveston county. I will try to keep us up on all the goings on that we can walk, boat, bike or drive our golf carts to. Very few things pi$$ me off but one of them is wasting my precious time. I'll try not to waste yours. Enjoy. ab

It's FRIDAY!

Good morning Clear Lake Shores!
What's this I hear about (ex) Officer Young claiming to be our next Chief of Police? Where in the hell did that come from? Is this what our city council has in mind? You're going to hire an officer that was not only terminated but then he turned around and sued us? That's just strange. No stranger than electing someone that doesn't pay their taxes though. Does anybody have an idea where our city council is taking us or are we just going to sit in the back of the bus and go along for the ride. Again. I personally haven't been invited to any of the planning and strategy meetings up on N. Shore so I'll just have to guess. I wonder if a new police chief would haul my ass to jail for shooting off fireworks from my dock at 11:00 at night just because it was against the law. Input councilman? Feel free to use the anonymous button. Then there's the whole "he makes too much money" argument. Too much money. Lets see a show of hands....everyone with too much money raise your hand. Imagine that. Where does that stop? There's a few folks that have too much house. Whatever shall we do about that? I have a few ideas but nobody is going to like but me. Well, maybe a few others. I wonder if council has given a thought to the fact that they'd have to hire most of their office staff if they pull off what can best be described as a personal vendetta.
Probably not. But then again that may be a part of their grand plan. We have stopped all progress as a city and shutting down the office would certainly enhance that. I'm sure that a replacement staff would be ready to hold a bicycle safety class for our kids like Officer Shelley did. They  would probably arrange for a free bike raffle like she did too. Can I call a do-over? I wonder where our council gets their awe inspiring inspiration. Aside from the obvious of course. What? You think no one noticed your cars and golf carts and truck in same the driveway? Puuuuhleeesse.

Larry thought getting a chunk of tree and concreting it in the ground for Erik to turn in to art was a good idea last night. Then the Scotch wore off and he's waffling. Rick and Sam on Oak are having two big trees dropped so If you want your own chuck of tree go by and make them a deal. LarryWayne, you need to reconsider. It was a good idea and Lord knows we don't have them often enough.

Lost Kitty....
Hi Allan.  I am a CLS resident married to Brian Hanby.  We've recently
discovered that one of my cats have turned up missing.  She hasn't
been home in several days and I'm really worried about her.  I thought
perhaps you could mention it in your blog in hopes that someone around
the island has seen her.
She's a very small white cat with grey spots wearing a pink collar
with tags.  Her name is Polly Jean.  Our address and phone number are
on the tags, but her collar may have been lost.  We actually have two
cats that are nearly identical; one male and one female.  The male is
hanging around the house - it's the much smaller, female version who
is missing.
I'm attaching a photo as well.
I really appreciate any help that you could provide in trying to locate our cat.
Sincerely,
Rai Hanby
(713) 550-4435
Sorry I got this so late Rai and welcome to the Island.

Think I'll go to my family reunion.

As of today June 10, 2011 we [still] have a city council person who is severely delinquent with regard to paying their property taxes. This goes all the way back to 2002. The current amount past due is $6,823.09. Is the fair to the tax paying citizens of Clear Lake Shores? In no way do I have a personal dispute with this person, but think that as a sitting representative of our citizens that these taxes should be paid.

you are just a liar just like the
rest of them. Just remember us citizens are not finished with you
and your cronies we have just started and you will not like it how it ends for your lying self.

While I don't agree with the apparent attacks on the city administration, I also don't agree with the tone of the dialogue here. Let's stick to facts. Personal attacks have no place in the conversation, especially if one is hiding under the 'anonymous' tagline. If the sentiment is that strong, have the courage to stand behind it.

Disclaimer, I haven't been to recent council meetings so my knowledge of the actual arguments that started this is second hand.

Jim,
I heartily agree with your sentiments. As I have told Allan in the past, I disagree strongly when it comes to politics (local or national) with some of my favorite people on the island -- they remain friends. I live with the probably naive hope that we can learn to strongly disagree, argue facts, and still do it with respect. An atmosphere of name calling and "gotcha" is not what I admire about our community.

Pam you have a point but its about time someone speaks out about the northshore cronies , they don't mind talking trash and personal attacks on their opponets when they want too. It works both ways.

Craig Ward said...

Jim, I agree with everything you pointed out. Unfortunately I can't use facts because I can't find any. Only rumors. I just sent a letter to each council member asking that they contact me ASAP to provide me with the facts and lay out all charges and accusations they are leveling against the Chief. I hope I am wrong but I would bet almost anything that at least three of them will not respond to my request. I will let you all know in a day or two who responded and what the facts are if they decide to be above board with this situation. I strongly encourage EVERYONE to attend the next Council meeting no matter which side of the coin you think you are on because in my opinion, nobody but those at the North Shore Council Annex knows what they are up to or exactly what is going on. If successful their actions could have a permanant devestating effect on our Island and on Paul and Tina. This is a very serious matter and everyone needs to get involved. If you are reading this and thinking, this won't affect me you are wrong. In one way or another it will affect you. NO EXCUSES, get to the meeting. If you need a ride I will pick you up and take you home. I don't know where I stand on all of this because I don't know what the heck is going on and unless you are privy to information leaked from the North Shore Annex, you most likely don't either so get to the meeting and lets put this to rest one way or another.

To those of you responding anonymously against this attempt to get rid of the Chief, Man up and sign your name. Your comments hold no credibility without your name proudly displayed at the end of the post. Don't be afraid you have lots of support. I don't know exactly where I stand at this point because I have no facts but when I do I promise I will let my feelings about this situation be known and will sign my name.

PS: Malinda, I figured out how to respond. Lord help us all.

Its not that important to me that Jackie owes taxes because those will always be a lien against his property. You are aware that you dont even have to be a property owned to be a council member. You can be a tenant and not pay a penny toward maintaining this city and still decide how things will be run............More important to me is that two years ago when Jackie was running for office he came into my house to convince me to vote for him. He told me he had been falsely arrested in Bellaire many years ago and spent ten years getting even with the cop and finally won......Then before his election he was arrested again by Clear Lake Shores for failure to appear after being summons for not cleaning up his yard. He called this a false arrest as well, and told me he was after Paul Shelley. I told Paul and Paul said he didn't even know Jackie had been arrested. I relayed this to Jackie and he said Paul should have known because he is the boss. Anyway, in my opinion Jackie set out to have Paul taken down. He's a "cop hater"......Jackie and Tami ran on the same ticket at election time and the McIntyre's supported them, as did I, because they were opposed to building the 'Woodlands Pavillion' at the front of the island.

I called Paul a year ago and told him one of my tenants told me they were at the bar at Heads N Tails and she was introduced to our "new Police Chief". She didn't know who he was but said he was with an attorney and that the guy was an ex policeman. Paul said that was Ed Young who was suing the city at the time for being fired and laughed it off.........Well, I understand Ed Young and his attorney were sitting in front of Tami at the Council meeting and congratulated her after it was over for bring up that Paul had stolen a Rolex watch from the locked property room......By the way, I heard this rumor a week before the Council meeting and that Arline was going to announce it at council, I called Paul and told him, so he and the Mayor visited Arline and she denied it.
....I wrote letter to council threatening to organize a recall election. I hired an attorney and he said our law does not allow for recall, that majority can fire him and then he files wrongful dismissal in District Court which is costly and time consuming.........All we can do now is go to meeting and protest in mass. I have talked to Tina twice and she is crying her eyes out. They need our support. Roselyn Pierce, 722 E. Shore

Roselyn Pierce said...

and also, I think I remember that when the City Administrator's job was created and the Bass regime gave it to Paul Shelley that I heard the McIntyre's were upset because they wanted that job. I wonder if this is part of the strategy here? To fire Paul and then the Police Chief's position and City Administrator's position is open? Something to ponder. Roselyn Pierce

Roselyn Pierce said...

and by the way folks, this great country was built by people speaking up and signing their name, so dont be afraid.

Bernie McIntyre said...

Roselyn raises an important point; it is extremely difficult to avoid the taxes. Even if you drop dead, the lien against your property is used to pay them off. And, I do not think that any of you would want to be paying the interest levied here. Also, last I heard, they had been paid.
If tax deadbeats really bother you, how about a homeowner who has their ground floor listed on the tax roll as storage, but has rented it out for years as living space. Over twenty years, how much of a dead beat do they become?

Bernie McIntyre

Bernie McIntyre said...

Another point Roselyn raises is that a week before the council meeting Arline was going to raise the ROLEX question.
Arline was called into a meeting with Paul and Vern and accused of fermenting the rolex rumor together with others. That was the first time the northshore annex heard of any rumor about the rolex. So, from our perspective, Paul spread the rumor. Since we were accused and threatened, we decided to get information. I assumed that the rolex came from a prisoner, but it seems to have been found in a restaurant and turned in. I am trying to determine if the rolex was ever registered with the state so it could be compared with their data base entries.
My experience with rumors is that they are usually not totally correct or totally false; there is usually some truth to them. Instead of Paul and Vern try to intimidate citizens into silence, they should be giving us the facts; information.
I raised the issue of evaluation of the city administrator a couple of months ago at a CC meeting; you would think I lit a fuse! How long has Paul been employed here , and never had an evaluation ? How many police officers have left or been forced to leave CLS ? 10 in 2 years. There is a problem here, and it is usually a management problem. The buck stops at Paul. Instead of solving the problem, we are told to shut up and not think about it. Talk to anyone about it and we will be sued or prosecuted. We are allowed to praise him but not critisize him. In the meantime, police officers look elsewhere. WHY ? We were always told it is the money. I have talked to several former officers over the last couple of years. At one time there was a noticeable salary differential, but $$$ was not the central reason for leaving. It was management !!
I intend to get the information and facts needed to make my own decision.

They have been asked to respond and to my knowledge are unable to do so.
Also, please include statistics such as crime rates and efficiency of city services in your FACTS investigation.

Bernie,

When you come to the meeting I assume you will have either notarized statements from the officers you have talked to or you will have them there in person to verify your allegations.

Stolen watch? Is it missing or not? Does Council have proof where it went? Facts please.

You say you intend to get the facts and information needed to make your own decision. Why didn't you get the facts before Council turned down a good officer? This is business as usual for you and your posse. You attack someone, talk behind their backs, build a case based on what you all decide are the facts then spread a bunch of gossip and rumors door to door to make them seem true to those that aren't paying attention

I sent a letter to all Council members asking for facts none except Richard have responded. Maybe they don't know how to get hold of me. My number is 281-300-3541.

The discussion on the table was to hire or not hire a new officer. Tami said she didn't think that any new officers should be hired until the problems with the Police Dept were fixed. Arleen and Fuller agreed. You and Kathy also agreed. Besides the fact the decision to not hire a capable officer defies all logic, there had never been any discussions at any Council meetings regarding any problems with the Police Dept. In my opinion that discussion must have taken place at private possibly illegal meetings between the five of you. I am not accusing any of you of anything but where else would it have come up and all of you would have been privy to the discussion. Response? When was Young offered the Chiefs job? He has told several people it was offered to him.

I want to thank jr. council for prodding me into doing what I should have been doing for years, that is , becoming more active in our cities political affairs. After the last council meeting, I was appalled by the inability of some council members to do the best thing for our city, and hire a capable, highly qualified police officer. To put vendettas, ahead of the best interests of our city, makes me want to vomit. It's time for council to do what they were voted into office for. Do something for the betterment of Clear Lake Shores, and not the "north shore annex" crew as Bernie mentioned in his own e-mail. I would also rather have 5 councilmen serving on council that rent their homes, than have 1 councilmen not pay their taxes. At least the owners of said renters would be paying taxes on their properties. As a citizen of Clear Lake Shores, the county of Galveston, and the United States of America, it is our DUTY to pay taxes, as our founding fathers set forth. If we all followed a jr.councilmen actions, do you think we would be in a democracy? I think not. Having a councilman serving our city and not pay his taxes is wrong, dead wrong. I can assure you, had this councilmen been on the other side, the "north shore annex" crew would be the first to point this out. I plan to attend as many council meetings as possible from this time forward, as again it is our duty.

Roselyn Pierce said...

I have also heard that they may be introducing an ordinance to ban nepotism. If this is so, then will it be grandfathered so that Tina wont be affected? Since some of our council thinks this will solve the "management" problem Bernie referred to above, it would be nice to hear from the current officers that I have been seeing around here for 20 years or so, if this truly is a problem for them. They could be questioned in private by the mayor or a committee and they could determine if Tina should be grandfathered or not. If I were a policeman I think I would rather work in Kemah where there are a bunch of young drunk women to look at instead of old folks like me. And I know we cant do it, but the city should give Paul the watch that is locked up for having to put up with this BS for 25 years. Most people couldn't do his job....I couldnt.

ALLEN CRUTHIRDS Says,
"For some time an ill wind has been blowing from North to South, and is disturbing the otherwise harmonious and peaceful nature of our “Little Slice of Paradise.” This wind carries a distinct stench of hatred, and a form of darkness that needs the light of day shown on it. Islanders’ you need to open your eyes – get out of your cocoons – show up at the next city council meeting to see what demented deeds are being schemed [up] to make life miserable for us all. Let’s not become like our sister city to the west. The government of that city has a well deserved reputation as being dysfunctional, and if we are not careful we will shortly become just like it. I encourage everyone to show up at this meeting with an open but serious mind, and with the heart to make things better. Let’s try to put this darkness behind us."

Lighten up Allen; if you really feel that the CC is trying to make life miserable for all of us with demented deeds you have a serious problem.
Because of perceived problems in the police department, they would rather not do a disservice to a new police officer. The issue of police morale can not remain hidden so that we have a revolving door.
Roselyn - If they visit the nepotism issue and pass an ordinance, it is my understanding thaqt it must include a grandfather clause. And I would hope that our police would rather stay in CLS and watch our drunks than those in Kemah. Even our men in drag look better than their women.

Jim,

If it is perceived that I am bias and it has anything to do with our family business, that perception is way off. In the years since Ryan started this thing we haven’t made enough money from this city to buy a months worth of Happy Meals. We do not solicit work from the City but we have done a handful of very small jobs for the city when asked. We are happy to show anyone the total income we received from the city in the past seven years at anytime. I'm not sure what you meant but if that is the perceived bias we can eliminate that as a cause for my backing Paul immediately.

I am staying focused on the real issues based on what information I have . In my mind they are as follows:

1. As far as I can tell a very small group of people, Bernie, Kathy, Tami, Jackie and Arlene are trying to oust Paul and Tina. I have heard and read they are accusing Paul of stealing a watch, making too much money and, nepotism. As far as I can tell there is no proof Paul stole anything, Letting Paul go for accepting a salary that was offered to him is just Looney and Tina has been here many years but just now nepotism is a problem? I agree with you I would love to stick to the facts but even though I have asked everyone on Council to provide me with facts, none of the three mentioned above have chosen to provide me with any response of any kind. Richard and Al did respond. Thanks Richard and Al
2. Based on what I have seen and heard and what I have observed over the years I believe that there most likely have been meetings between Bernie, Kathy and a majority of Council where city business was discussed. If that is true it would be in violation of the law. I am not accusing anyone of anything it is just my gut feeling. If Young has been putting it out there for over a year that he will be our next Chief and now he is\now showing up at Council meetings with his Attorney at the same time they are apparently trying to oust our Chief, you have to admit it raises fair questions.

Vigilante? I’m not sure where that is coming from. We have a short window of opportunity to save Paul and Tina’s jobs . I am trying to find out all I can from anybody I can then I am expressing my opinions and concerns and I am trying to raise as much support for Paul and Tina as I can. I have not accused anyone of anything. I am simply pointing out problems that seem clear to me. I agree with you that any improprieties should be handled by the proper authorities. According to a fellow Islander that told me he is looking into it, tells me that this matter will be handled by the Attorney Generals office and the FBI.

I try to stay out of politics because it takes the enjoyment out of living on the Island. But this issue has pissed me off. If what I have learned at this point is true, everyone should be pissed off. I would love to have the story from the folks that want to take Paul and Tina out but they are refusing to provide anyone with anything as far as I know. Paul is an open book willing to talk to anybody, Bernie’s post about The North Shore Annex is what it is and people are free to interpret it as they please. If I am considered bias because I fully support Paul and Tina based on their commitment to their job and this Island, my appreciation for them both going above and beyond for this Island for many years and for their unbelievable success in their part of getting us back together after Ike, then I am guilty as charged. If anyone thinks I am bias for any other reason they would be wrong.

I realize I have been very direct and maybe insulting to some in trying to muster support for Paul and Tina but in my opinion from what I know at the time of this post, what is happening to them seems unbelievably wrong if not criminal. I promise everyone that if we learn that the facts show Jr. Councils actions are justified, I will be the first to apologize.

That funny Bernie. Thanks for the laugh!!....and Allen C, yesterday I filed an Open Records Act with the City Secretary requesting copies of all emails and correspondence between council members to each other, to the McIntyres, to Ed Young or to his attorney regarding Paul and Tina Shelley. I also requested arrest records of all council since Jackie told me about a few he had. I hope the city attorney has informed them that its a felony to not supply these or to destroy any of these.......We will see what falls out of that tree......As this gets ugly I want to remind any newcomers that if you are going to say anything ugly or accusatory, to put your name to it. We have a deceased property owner who was good friends with the McIntyres and there is a judgment on his house because of anonymous letters written about Bill King (this was during the McIntyre regime.), so speak up but speak the truth as you know it and sign your name.

Roselyn Pierce said...

One more question for Bernie? You say that the nepotism ordinance would have a grandfather clause so that Tina would not be affected. How on earth would you know what this ordinance says when it has not even been put on the agenda? Why are you privy to this information and none of the rest of us are? PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION.

Jim Adams said...

Craig, I wasn't referring to you. Sorry if I was less than succinct, please reread slowly.

My only beef with you is that I always get stupid 2nd place at your stupid chili cookoff because you have stupid judges. Obviously, I've deserved to win every year.

bernie mcintyre said...

Craig - I am not part of any posse, I do not go door to door, and I say openly what I feel. I brought up the police morale issue in a council meeting and addressed the issue. Councilman Al Burns stated he was bothered by the turnover also and would look into it. After another CC meeting he stated that again. I do not know how far he got on it.
I grew very tired of seeing former police officers from CLS in Kemah and being highly respected. We trained them. We gave them an opportunity to be a professional. I completely agree with the CC members who voted against hiring another officer at this time. In my view, they did the officer a favor.
You also say that five of us had to get together on the issue, but you are not accusing us. I feel you are accusing us. What binds us together is the fact that most of the five have been interogated and threatened directly or indirectly by the police chief over this dammed rolex. It was the first we heard of it. Rumors were already out on the street and probably in this blog before we were aware of it. Paul had "reliable" witnesses who stated certain things to him concerning us,the rolex and rumers. His three sources did a disservice to us and Paul. I have no idea why they would say it, but Paul, as police chief should never have acted on it without getting a written statement from them. That is the system, and he did not follow it. If they were not willing to sign their name to a statement, then it never happened. No harm done; move on.
That was the tipping point for me and I went to the county office and filed a complaint. And I will file other complaints.
The plain fact is that Paul was very low on the to do list of CC members as far as I could tell. When I asked one member to prioritize, one whom I thought might have an axe to grind, Paul was at the bottom; there were other more important issues to deal with.
As is usual in politics, the issue is much less significant than the response of the officials involved. The response here gave me a very different perception of those involved. Thank you for all you have done here, Paul, but the best thing for you is to move on.

Roselyn Pierce said...

Bernie, again, will you please answer how you know what is on the proposed Nepotism Ordinance that Tami has put on the agenda for Tuesday? Since she discussed this with you, did she discuss it with any other council members?

bernie mcintyre said...

I do not know about a proposed nepotism ordinance; what I said was that if one is enacted, it would have to include a grandfather clause. That is based on the way I think the law works. You can not go around firing city employees because a new ordinance makes present employees non elligible for future employment.
From what I remember, there is a state law against nepotism as they define it, but the city can choose to ignore it in specific cases.. If she were to leave and re-apply at a later date and the city had new restrictions, she would not be elligible. I am not an attorney, I do not want to be an attorney (or city administrator ). Check with your attorney if you have doubts.
I have not seen the agenda and have not discussed the item with Tami. I have had brief discussions with others since her hiring to try to figure out what happened to the state law on nepotism.

Lighten up Bernie; if you really feel that the Chief is trying to make life miserable for all of us with demented deeds you have a serious problem.

Sure wish you and the Mrs. would take long, hard look in the mirror to determine where your hate is coming from. Is it because she did such a poor job as mayor? It is okay to admit the job was beyond her abilities and way too much to stay on top of - all the mail, grant opportunities and such. Her dysfunctional mgmt. brought us to adding the position of a city admin., which has certainly bettered this city, especially with Paul Shelley in the role. League City, like CLS has found this model to be much better.

It is time to move on. Enjoy your retirement and this beautiful city. As a believer in karma, what goes around, comes around. Let it end now, before damage is done or I pity you both for the karma coming your way.

To my knowledge, two attorneys have been hired, one judge has been consulted. Another judge and their staff dreads you walking into the office and they shake their heads when you leave. Realize the reputation you are building for yourself.

MOVE ON!

Bernie, you wrote above, "I grew very tired of seeing former police officers from CLS in Kemah and being highly respected. We trained them. We gave them an opportunity to be a professional." Are you also referring to the small statue man that was drunk while in uniform? If you are, these are not the most creditable sources. Let Kemah have them.

Then there is poor Bill Young - he could not get hired in Kemah or any where else. He was on probation numerous times here and the guy worked less than 6 hrs a week. He was fired or asked to leave. He sued CLS and received a settlement to go away. Now he is back with his attorney. Has he returned the money since he violated the agreement? Yet,Fuller and Perkins are listening to him.

as mayor I would like to know what the complaint is.I want to know why I shouldnt take this as vindictive behavior because of some preconceived problem that people have in the back of their minds (I use that term loosely). I am dismayed at the behavior of certain people that believe they can put this over as being in the best interest of our citizens in our city..what are you trying to accomplish?..do you have a solution to your perceived problem? I havent heard it..is it a secret you are going to let the mayor know about later?? as far as I am concerned I have three council people who have some kind of grudge and are willing to sacrifice the well being of the city for their own selfish reasons...reasons they are unwilling to disclose..come on..quit trying to ignore the chain of command you are supposed to respect...you folks could not comply with the rules of your job by submitting an evaluation report on the city administrator as required by ordinance and all of a sudden you want to fire Paul...? You told me the reason you couldnt turn in an evaluation was that you didnt know enough about the department to do an evaluation. Now you are an expert enough to know you want to fire the best person this city has ever had.. He has done more for this city than you will ever be capable of doing.. All of you naysayers should be ashamed of yourselves.. It is hard to be concerned and work for what is best for our city when I have to put up with this B.S.

Roselyn - I missed your posting on the meeting at our house on wednesday, but I am not surprised at your actions. You are all wrapped up in this regime/northshore annex nonsense.

If you are going to spy on me and my friends you should be able to recognize their vehicles by this time. They all live near by and you need not waste the time of the police. Did you get your information back from the police ? . My neighbor probably has their pictures if you need them.
In the future, when I am having visitors, I will notify you and you can park in front of the house and monitor the event.

As long as you are requesting police records for the CC keep in mind that the mayor considers himself part of CC, and will feel slighted if you leave him out.
I assume you will publish your results here.
Bernie

I will be publishing anything my attorney and the Galveston County Sheriff's Department says I can publish, so stay tuned. I hope you all realize its a felony to destroy anything that I have requested through Open Records Act. I am not threatened by you Bernie.

There are several related comments especially on the possible source of these rumors in the comment section at " depression is merely anger with out enthusiasism "

Ros - I do not see where you should feel threatened about the above note. You are free to use the open records act to get information just as I can. I simply told you that the mayor has reminded me in the past that he is part of council, and would want to be included.

I am still waiting for an answer: did you receive any form of communication from the city ( Paul, Vern, Staff...) that would indicate that the police acted on your request for a license check on the visitors to my house wednesday afternoon. I have asked you several times. A simple yes or no would suffice.

I have answered your question Bernie and you are not listening. I sent the photos to city hall asking if there was more than one council person there, which is my right as a citizen if I think the law is being broken. No, I did not get an email or a phone call from Paul or the Mayor and that is why I posted asking if anyone else had seen the cars and if they knew if there was more than one council person there.

Bernie,

You are very good at what you do. You are diverting every thing towards who is at whose house rather than answering the really important questions. What are the charges you are leveling against Paul, what are the accusations against Paul and do you have facts and proof to back up these issues. You are willing to go on and on about the tax issue the watch that is right where it should be, in the evidence room, and defending who is at your house but you won't tell anyone why Paul should be fired. I realize we are citizens not equal to your standing in the community but I think we still have a right to know what is going on. Will you please respond?

Oh, and Bernie, I ran the license plate check myself. It cost me $15on line and I have the receipt. The plate turned out to be a person I respect, so I called and apologized to her.

Roselyn,

I have no problems with what you are doing and you have the right to do so if you please but I think you are helping these folks divert attention from the real issue which is what are the charges against Paul. Bernie continues to ask you the same question over and over even though you answered it. We can all see that. Don't let their tactics get to you. I have asked him my question three times and have gotten no response. They are playing games. You have answered now lets see if he will finally answer my question. I bet he will not. He is messing with you to divert attention away from the real issue. Don't let him do it.

Tami Perkins,

I'm fairly certain you're keeping up with this so I will try again here as you have not responded to the voice mail I left you.
As our elected official I believe you are, or should be, responsible for communicating with your constituency. As citizens in this community we have every right to know what is going on here.
As an elected official you have an obligation.

On what basis did you file the agenda item in question?

craig said...

Everyone,

We need to quit entertaining Bernie. We need to focus on the Council pepole with the power to get rid of Paul. Bernie has been deflecting attention from them with his nonsense. Call Tami, Arlene and Jackie. They have gotten off easy because Bernie has been their sheild. Tami seems to be the biggst problem. Call her, e-mail her, text her go by and visit with her. She represents us and owes us answers instead of hideing behind Bernie. Lets get some answers out of these council folks who allegedly represent us. If they refuse to deal with us common folk it might help us get them out of office. I'm hoping anyway

What is Tammy's phone #? Email?Jackie's phone and email?

I agree-Bernie is wasting our time and energy here. Plus he makes no sense.

Tami's phone number is listed with the agenda item. She won't answer it though.

All these open record request, dang thats alot of work. Has anyboby given any thought to the stress this puts on or office staff and the strain and stress that they must feel having to get their regular duties done on top of the mountain of extra work. These girls serve us and keep this Island going and we are treating them like nameless slaves. It seems like we dont care about the current staff at all as long as we get what we need. This Island would be screwed without their dedication and hard work. All of this other BS aside, lets try to salvage the staff we have or they will all look to leave. Why should they stay? I bet Kemah dosent look to bad to any of them now. I bet it is hard to go to work every day and put a smile on and work as hard as they do and still wonder if they will have a job when the dust settles or if they will be collateral damage even though they have no part in this BS. What a way to show our gratitude.

Get rid of Chief Shelley? Yes! I knew his day would come. He should have always known it would come soon...

craig said...

Candace,

While I don't think I agree with you, at least you had the courage to state your mind and sign your name. I admire that. I say I think I don't agree with you because the folks pushing this agenda have not given us any facts. None. You sound like you might know somthing we don't. Could you let us know why you would like to see Paul go? Has he committed acts worthy of booting him off the Island or are you just mad at him? I know I have been sarcastic in some of my posts but I am not being sarcastic now. I would really like to know what you know. Can you fill all of us in so we can go to the meeting with some facts in hand?

Thanks

Craig

Who the hell is candace oh yea someone said the police department arrested her son.

Anonymous said...

HEY tAMI WHO AUTHORIZED YOU TO INVESTIGATE THE cHIEF and the police department antway ? you might be in big trouble if you did
this on your own without being authorized by council If chief sues us you might be in BIG TROUBLE. I hope you have good insurance.

Anonymous said...

If Paul sues the city he will most likely sue all three on council individually as well that is usually how it works. They better have something up their sleeves or they are in deep doo doo. Paul might end up owning a new pool. Surfs up Tami and friends

Anonymous said...

Paul will win much, much more than a new pool if he sues the city and the individual council members involved - the ones that got all this started to begin with. Think of all the residents that will testify in Paul's favor. Oh, wait, Bernie and Kathy have to be on the list too, since they feed puppet Perkins.

All this lawsuit business, how will Bernie handle that since they already have a suit against them?
